Idle Air Speed Controller
My RPMs have been jumping up real high (2000 RPM) on my 95 mustang when I let my clutch in and I just can't get the car to idle right (when not in gear). When I got new mufflers put on the car the shop told me it was my idle air speed controller, which makes sense. I wanted to just replace it, but I don't really want to spend $100 at Murray's for the part. Does anyone know any place that sells the part relatively cheap ~$50?
Also, the guy at the muffler shop said I could try taking it off and cleaning it with brake cleaner, but I would rather not have brake cleaner in anything going into my engine. Has anyone had luck cleaning out a dirty idle air speed controller?
