Question Blinking Theft Light!?!

Every time I start my stang up, the theft light will start blinking repeatedly. Once I start driving it, the light will slow it’s blinking and eventually stop (about 3 minutes after the car has been started). My car doesn’t have an alarm system; although it might have had one in the past (I am the third owner). Does anyone have a clue why this is happening or what could be the cause? Any help is greatly appreciated!!! Some potentially useful info is that my car is 98, manual, v6, 93k miles, stock electronically…
