Service Engine Soon

Ok so I have an 2002 convertible and I haven't done any mods in 2 years. I have off road h-pipe and flowmasters, and mac cold air. I did buy the MIL eliminators, however I think this is a new problem cause by a missing air filter. My air filter seemed to be missing for about a 1-2 weeks. The check engine light came on and at idle the rpm gauge is a lil shaky. Going from 750 and dropping as low as 500 for a second or two. this occurrs a lot when im braking as well. Any Idea what the problem is? What should I do to fix this? Car has apporx 65K on motor. I bought a new filter of course, but I just dont think the car is running great right now and am a little scared to drive it hard.
Thanks Justin.

first u shouldnt drive without an airfilter cause now any bugs dirt ect u suck in goes into the engine=bad.(of course if u put the filter on as soon as u noticed it missing thats good. take the car to autozone they can read the code for free. if u already put on the filter unhook the neg battery terminal and press the brake pedal few times then in 30min hook it back up that should remove the check engine light if it wasd caused by the filter u shouldnt get it back

Sounds good I will try that later tonight, if the light does not turn off I will go to autozone. If I did suck up some dirt or bugs is there any fuel or engine treatement that you suggest or is all that just a waste of $? Any idea of what the code could mean and if Im possibly looking at some hardcore spending? God I hope not...
Thanks Justin.

Ok so I went up to Discount Auto and had the code read. HaHa...it said car pass or something no codes. So I then turn the car over and the light is off. I ran some fuel treatment stuff through the car as I filled it up on gas so hopefully I don't encounter any more weird instances like this. I think the problem may be in the off-road h-pipe. Maybee a loose MiL eliminator wire who knows, but I don't think there is anything wrong. Anyway Thanks for your comments guys.
