Question 1995 3.8 ?

A friend asked if I'd look @ his daughters car. Suddenly idles @ 2k

TPS & IAC replaced w/o effect.

Only stored code P0340 - bad cam position sensor. My other scanner lists this as P1340 - camp sensor count error.
Could this be the problem?

New to this engine, so ......

has it happened to anyone else here?

Pull codes.

Does it just idle all the time @ 2k, or does it return to normal idle when you stop? If it returns to idle when you stop, then the IAC is a suspect.

Start with pulling codes though.

WOW, I hardly knew where this came from after more than a year.
The IAC had been replaced w/ an AZ part w/o effect.
Finally pulled it off, cut a pc. of 16 ga. aluminum and covered / uncovered the two holes in the throttle body and got it to idle down.
Bad new IAC. replacement = problem solved.
Still good.

Thanks for the reply tho.
