96 3.8 to a 87 5.0

Is it possible to put an 87 5.0 in a 96 3.8 car? If so, what all would it involve? I know the motor mounts, and computer would have to be changed, along with probably the suspension, breaks, and rear. But what else? Thanks for any advice.

easiest way for you is to get 94-95 gt donor car. if you have an 87 5.0 motor kickin around you will need the computer, harness, bellhousing, transmission, motor mounts, k member i believe, rear end. suspension and brakes is close enough.

If you have the entire car with the V8, you have a fighting chance to swap things in, but it won't be easy. A 94 - 95 V8 equipped Mustang parts car is an excellent idea as well. Sounds like you will need a lot of parts cars, but it is possible.
