Keep blowing a heater hose

In the past year we have blown two heater hose son my dads 98 V-6. The hose is the one that runs from that stupid tower on front of the motor, down to I believe it memoru serves, to the thermostat housing. This is the fourth one blown in two years. We have replaced the stat already, but it seems we are still getting excess pressure in the system. Water pump maybe? The car has a Vortech blower and a Super Six Intake (both of which have been on the car for at least six years). Anybody have this issue or ideas? Thanks.

if you are getting excess pressure in the coolant system, it is possible you have a blown head gasket More than likely, it is only leaking under boost, and sealing back up under normal load/no boost. Problem is its going to be hard to prove. That is really the only way excess pressure can be introduced to the coolant system, unless you have a crack somewhere in the intake manifold, or a head, but if you do, those issues would cause the car to overheat all the time, and use up coolant. Does the car have any type of overheating/running hot issues, or are you loosing coolant or finding the car has to have coolant added occasionally?

agree wth the above, 3.8's are common for popping head gaskets, now if all that checks out, maybe you need to have a coolant hose "flow restrictor" installed in the supply hose

How about pulling the cap pressurize the sys and then see how long it holds it. Those thing should last for a lot longer then 1 year or so

a simple piece of tubing that has a smaller hole in it than the heater core or hose will distrupt the flow enoght that it will slow down and not rupture the heater core.

put yellow weatherstrip glue on tube and inside the hose before slipping it on.
this will stick it on tight...

common way to do it on a track car.
