droppin the 3.8 for a 5.0

has anyone here ever dropped the 3.8 for a 5.0? i am currently looking to do this and i am looking for a little insight into what all i am going to need. like my K bar, can i still re-use it, i know the exhaust has to be redone completely. i am looking to spend about 3500 for the swap. i know i have to change my tranny and rear end out, but that is the easier of the swap. not sure where i may need new motor mounts, unless my current will work. any creditable info would be greatly appreciated. thanks guys

I'm guessing you have a '99 ... if so than yes... you will need a K member, motor mounts, (I sugjest getting ones for a convertible....from pep boys...) you'll probably have to make the trans crossmember, If you go EFI (I recomend this...) you will need the wiring, computer, fuel system, (The one from the 99 might work... would have to look at it... ) I think it would be cool. If you would like to chat about it more or some help hit me up.... I am local... Later...

I've done several, but it'd be a lot of info to type out on here. It sounds like the people on here have given some good basic advise. I guess pm me if you need more help.

why would you swap a split port 3.8 for a 5.0??????

$3500 will get you a easy 4.2 swap out of an f150 with an eaton m112 on top of it and a good 375 hp to the wheels

Why? because you don't have to swap the k-member??
