2011 mustang gt ac problem

ok folks, we have a 2011 mustang gt with manual air conditioning. the problem is the ac is erratic, it may stop cooling going down the road cruising or won't start up when you first start the car. it has a full charge of freon. it has so many sensors don't know where to start trouble shooting. has any one had a similar problem and what was the diagnosis. I can't afford a big troubleshooting bill, need to fix this my self. forgot to say blower motor is running the whole time just the compressor isn't coming on

you need to toss a set of gauges on it and see where its at first

if its not coming on at all then most likely the low pres sw is preventing it.

make sure u dont have any misfire codes or check engine light that would disable the ac as well.

You can get a set of gauges at harbor freight pretty cheap. I like mine. Sounds like an electrical problem. I know it not the same but my 2003 Lincoln Town Car had a similar problem and it ended up being the mini relay that powered the compressor. I switched it with another on in the box to confirm then picked on up for $0.25 at the junk yard!

Good luck.

Ac diag- check freon levels
check power at compressor. if no power, check fuses.
The A/c is controlled through the hvac module. I'm don't think your run of the mill scanners will read the modules. if there's an error code related to the module, chances are it's going to be a U or C or B code. if replacement is required, it will have to be programmed by the dealer.

here's the factory service manual link: https:// iihs.net/fsm/?d=0
If that link does't work, PM me and I'll try to get it to you a different way.

blackhawkkid308,

Thanks for posting up the root cause of the problem. It is very helpful for searchers to see the suggestions along with the root cause. Thanks again for the last post. Pretty cool. (Yes, some weak A/C humor intended. )
