Roll bar / Saleen sportbar / aftermarket light bar ???

I really donĀ“t know where to put this question but here goes ....

The original Saleen sportbar installed from the Saleen factory, does that act as support/safety in any way?? (year 1998)

Is it purely cosmetic, or is there actually a sort of roll bar inside?

I know most of the cheap aftermarket "light bars" is pure plastic.

thanks
Anders

A long cruise keeps me sane. If I drove less to save money on gas, I'd just have to spend it on a therapist.

I would love to find something that looks as good as a light bar but passes scca and NHRA roll bar specs.

I was building my Street modified 95 mustang convertible to eventually be a saleen speedster replica, but I dont think I can run a rollbar and a hard speedster cover together and make it look similiar.

It seems you can never get performance and looks in the same package, its one or the other..
