Autocross FS read this

The scca is considering moving the Camaro ss ws6 and 03 04 cobra into FS for 2006. This car is way better than anything inthe class. If you run in FS log onto www.scca.com go to contact us e-mail Doug Gill and state that the two cars are way to much for the currant cars in the class. The more e-mails he gets the more he will forward to the board for the vote. Please help keep this power houses out. The two car have way more power way better diff's (camaro torsen) and can run way bigger tires. Thanks to anybody who can help.

And there competitive in AS?

I think it would be a good move. The 1les already have a torson so that dosnt apply and the cobra ways alot more then a mach.

Only thing that has ground is the rim width

What does that have to do with F Stock? Cars aren't guaranteed a place to be competitive.

Some of the SS's have T2R's, some of the cars have stiffer springs, etc, etc. That brings up the documentation issue. The SS's weren't SS's from the factory, they were sent to SLP. It is a slippery slope.

As far as rim width, I'd say the 17x9's is worth at least half a second over the 16x8's, maybe more.

With all that said, the unofficial word (rumor) is that these cars are not going to be allowed in the class.

Interesting. Those are all very heavy cars. I don't think a stock Cobra is markedly better than any of the current FS Mustangs. I expect to see $5k Camaros stay at the top.
