Anyone running Feal 441 road racing coilovers?

Im currently on MM sport non adjustable dampers with 500f/400r eibach coils, Looking to make the switch to a solid RR adjustable coilover setup (eventually) wondered what your suggestions/thoughts/do's and donts before i drop this money, (tears) many tears

I've been running the KW double adjustables on my s550 GT PP for over two years. While this car is (was - retired now) a DD, I've auto-crossed and open tracked the car a lot since purchasing in 2016. I can't say enough about KW's quality and effectiveness. Honestly, I wasn't sure I wanted to get into damper tech and adjustability. I'm a big fan of the non-adjustable Bilsteins be they MM or otherwise. For my needs, damper adjustability with the related learning curve was too much "black magic". But I got a killer deal on the KWs and couldn't pass them up.

Just with KW's recommended default settings for my car, the difference was night and day over the PP dampers and they were new when swapped. I am so impressed with this that I began studying damper tech along with all things suspension related. Unfortunately, the KWv3s on my car use proprietary springs with unpublished rates. So I'm stuck with them. But, for my 86, I'm going to swap-out the MM Bils/C/Os for some adjustable units - probably Cortex/JRI or similar.

I understand that this ramble doesn't exactly answer your question regarding the selected dampers. But if you have any hesitation going to adjustables, go all in. As usual, quality counts especially in the damper and range of curves - i.e., buy good pieces. Study the tech behind the reason for adjustables This will help you understand why both rebound and compression adjustment is important, why a noticeable change (resolution) from one click to the next is important. For example, my first adventure with adjustables was Koni Sports. Not a big fan of those at all. Not enough rebound resolution and compression was too stiff. Nearly ruined me on adjustables.

Thanks for the input,

My reasoning was I am at a cross roads. I need to go faster and I need new coilovers.

So do I fork over another 1700 dollars on MM3 race dampers and their new Gen C/O kit and still be non0adjustable? OR do i just go Feal RR spec 441 with their recommended springs and adjustable, and they are made for MM camber caster plates.

If i could have gotten the new MM3 race dampers to fit my current MM C/O kit maybe, but the fact that I have to buy all that over again and still have no adjust-ability killed it for me.

I'm leaning towards the feal option. I've been looking at a guy on Instagram boosteddriftbullet for some pictures and info on his setup.

I would still be buying the MM caster /camber plates. I'll likely order parts this month so maybe I'll know more soon.

I know nothing about Feal products. I do know that the next level up from the MM Bilstein is double adjustable. I also know that damper design has changed a lot in the last few years. Bilstein is old tech - so are KWv3s. How new tech translates into better handling I'm not sure. But in the long run dampers are a critical piece of the suspension puzzle. For what I do, I don't need Ohlins or Penske. But JRi or JRZ or the next level of KWs? Yeah - I'll do those. Pricy yes. But sometimes you got to pay to play at the next level. I'm spoiled by my v3s.

I've never heard of Feal, just looked at their website. You might like to check out Fortune Auto. I have FA 500 series on my current dedicated track car... a Honda. I'm really happy with the set so far, been two years. When ordering you can call FA and speak directly to one of their engineers about your needs. Also there are some retailers that sell for less than the price on FA website.

I searched around here to see if anyone has any experience with Fortune Auto on a S197 as I'm currently looking to switch from the Honda to the Mustang; but search function returned no results.

he works for FEAL fyi. I know him through the drift world.

the owner of feal is a Formula Drift pro driver, Aurimas Bakchis if you wanted to look him up and see some more info. Theyre supposed to be great coils. Work with MM CC plates too.

I realize this is an old thread and I'm new to the group so full disclosure I sell Feal/Wisefab products. I'm new to Mustangs however I do several Feal installs on BMWs a year I have 441s on my daily driver/occasional track car E90 and on my trackrat E30 if a better shock for the money exists I have not found it. Guys at Feal know what they're talking about and what they're doing and they make every effort to get you set up how you want. If my Mustang were not being put together for a budget restricted event I'd already have a set on the way.
