Fox-Body with t56 speedo issue

Fox-body with a t56. Car is an 88 with factory gauge cluster. I want to get my speedo working again. I heard f150 stuff works but what years specifically? Is there other options?

depending on what the t56 was designed for it either has an oss or a vss or possibly both, first you need to see which one it has then you can get it working based on that signal

VSS? OSS? what does that refer to? I bought the t56 new from brothers performance about ten years ago. It was specific to foxbody swaps.

Make sure you cut the inner cable back so it's not sticking out really far, or the extra pressure will destroy your speedometer assembly. I had this happen twice. Until I brought the cable in with me and the speedo guy was like "Oh damn...." Once its bottomed out on the stop on the speedometer side it only needs to be about 1/2" or so past the VSS. Easy way to trim to fit is while it's out of the car. Use the VSS and keep trimming until it bottoms out on the speedometer side.

I used a 1996 F-150 cable. It was $10.
