Fox body vert

Hey guys so ive recently built my fox just a little bit you know basic stuff ( pistons , rods , new valves n springs , cams , high performance starter and generator , along with coilovers of course which i know is irrelevant but it will be im a second ) so i would just like to put in wider tires as im running 255 and i wish to get closer to 300 , also i would like bucket seats and and a roll cage which is my main concer because its a 91 gt vert. Can you have bucket seats ( sparco , corbeue , bride ) seats in it and a roll cage? Im looking for just a back of passenger roll cage maybe even with the harness bar for harness'es with the seats. Minding i only drive this car RELIGIOUSLY in the dry pavement thats been dry for 48 hours and the car never touches water even to wash it it is a waterless wash. My interior is crap and i want bucket seats maybe a cage can someone give me some insight on the legality and the possible combos i can do aswell with the tires on the rear being wider? Sorry im new i only know engines and im 17 years old go easy on me

Welcome to the board and to Mustangs! I got the 91 fox I have now when I was 18.

You can absolutely fit a nice bucket/race seat with a cage. I have a 6-point street cage in mine with Corbeau FX1 Pro seats. Fits perfect.
Mine is a hatch but I've seen many convertibles with cages and nice seats

86 Vert; 4-point custom with harness bar, and two diagonals; Recaro seats. If you're serious about puttng a roll-bar in your car, check out the rule set for the type of track events you intend to run. For example, I will only be running SCCA and NASA PDX/HPDEs which require a vert to have at least a 4-point (specs on tubing size, wall thickness and design are in the rules).

You might want to really think about a cage in your car if it is a street car. I just had this same conversation with Jack Hidley and several of my friends. Based off of my research and their input I decided against a cage for my 89 vert since my kids will be riding back there. There are people that will argue heavily both ways...I just made the decision that was right for me and my family. Just food for thought.

As far as tires and wheels. I currently have 18x9 and 18x10 SVE Drifts on my car with Nitto NT555 265/35/18 and 285/35/18. They have zero miles on them, but do not look like they will rub based on my past cars. The car is still mid, but this gives you an idea. Those pics are with stock suspension and I think no motor if I recall correctly.

Agree with the above. My roll-bar is removable but since my kids are grown and gone, I did a rear seat delete. Bar can still be removed in less than 10 minutes; reinstalled in about 15 (extra time due to bolt alignment). Makes the car a bunch more rigid with just 4-points; worth it IMHO.

As for wheel/tires, I'm running 315/35/18s on 11" rims all around. "Mild" fender mods are required.

Vert FOX

Get subs first these vert cars are like wet noodles and before you put in a cage go with quality subs Maximum Motorsports, Steeda or Global West Competition subs if you can afford them.
