I plan on making it to a TNiA at Thompson some time this year. I actually emailed them to make sure they would let me bring my car since their info says they want to avoid dedicated race cars.

What ive seen a pirelli world challenge mustang there, and soem sort of formula car, and a legend midget thing, i wouldnt worry about having a "track car" #### my fox is a "track car" with license plates.

I want to check out palmer by you in MA~!

Like I said, I emailed them for clarification, even sent a picture. They were more worried that the car was registered and inspected and could meet sound (it blows 89db at 75 feet in 2nd gear during auto-xes).

I think I am heading to Thompson for next week's TNiA. Will probably do the work/drive thing again for $35; 1 session is enough on a new-to-me track on my street tires for now.

Well, forget the street tires; I picked up a set of used Michelin 27/65-18 GT/Touring slicks to put on my 18*10s (Michelin's tire guide says these want 11s!). Going to do 1 session at Thompson on Thursday afternoon with TNiA. Car has 3.55s, I'm assuming it is mostly a 3rd gear course with some tight 2nd gear turns.

Mostly 3rd gear, I go into 2nd around the hairpin and i tried going into second for turn 1, however i think i want to go into turn 1 much harder next time and carry more speed which would keep me in 3rd. I shift into 4th at the crest of the hill on the main straight coming out of turn 11

Sounds very similar to what I experienced today. Car felt fantastic on the Michelins, even though I started with cold pressures too low. Got in 9 hot laps, best time was a 1:28.5 on my fourth lap (the rest all had traffic). First time ever on this track. I wanted to use 2nd more but I didn't want to bother. 3.73s would really help stay in 3rd around this course.

My two fastest laps via GoPro. https://www.dropbox.com/s/6r6zqvatpb...GoPro.mp4?dl=0

Same two laps via my Quarterhorse to Bluetooth to TunerView app on my phone. Developer is working on some bugs (for instance, it never shows me going to 100% throttle and the contrast handling is turrble). https://www.dropbox.com/s/yaupklxdzb...%20TV.mp4?dl=0

My fastest lap was 1:27.7

I honestly felt i was faster during the practice session than the time trials. Iam leaving lots of time on the table in a few corners, esp T1

Yeah, I was leaving massive amounts of time on course as it was the first time I was seeing it and I only did 1 session, first time on those tires, and I only had 2 laps without traffic (3 and 4, out of 9 hot). After reviewing my TunerView video, I am convinced that I would go MUCH faster if exited 1 in 2nd gear, stayed in 2nd after the hairpin until shifting before the oval, trusting the grip and burying the pedal before 11, and not braking so early before 1. Also, I need to let her rev to 6,250, I was short shifting. The car probably has an easy low 1:26 or high 1:25 in her in the current set up. I might find out later this year at the next TNiA there.

Battery kill switch. Added it recently so I could go drag racing (required when battery has been relocated).

My notch weighed 2890 with the 16*12 lightweight Real racing wheels and massive Hoosier bias ply tires on it last year. No A/C, no heater stuff at all, no smog, AL flywheel, AL driveshaft, e-fan, mostly gutted hood, AL ultrashield seats, gutted interior, etc. However, I have added the Griggs PHB, sub-frame connectors, and the trailer hitch (very heavy). Would be interested to see yours on scales. Go find some as I said in the other thread at a NASA race weekend.

I would assume that fresh NT01s would have similar grip to under-inflated, well-used Michelin racing slicks (but I would expect the Michelins to outperform them once up to temp and correct pressure). I would also assume I make quite a bit more power than you, so I need to step up my game next time I go! You should check out Palmer. Probably too far away from you but a heck of a neat track.

2011 NHRA Rule Book: "Batteries may not be relocated into the driver or passenger compartments. Rear firewall of .024-inch steel or .032-inch aluminum (including package tray) required when battery is relocated in trunk. In lieu of rear firewall, battery may be located in a sealed .024-inch steel, .032-inch aluminum, or NHRA-accepted poly box. The sealed box may not be used to secure battery and must be vented outside of body. Relocated battery must be fastened to frame or frame structure with a minimum of two 3/8-inch-diameter bolts. Mandatory when battery is relocated, an electrical power cutoff switch (one only) must be installed on the rearmost part of each vehicle and be easily accessible from outside the car body. This cutoff switch must be connected to the positive side of the electrical system and must stop all electrical functions including ignition."

1. Im on a stock motor so yes i can only imagine you setup.
2. Palmer is on my list, we should link up aka ill crash at your place the night before a palmer track day and we ride together (also take some cool photos)
3. I want to hit every track on the East Coast! I need a truck and a trailor!
4. Battery kill switch i would think on the cage somewhere were anyone can reach, or a pull rod by the rear plate/lights.

Like ive said before, my plan is to get this car as light as possible and enjoy the go kart feel with 200hp
