Flex-a-lite 52185 Kit help/opinions?

Ford Mustang 5.0 Electric Fan
(kit is the second one listed on page)

My chassis builder told me that they recommend this kit... im currently running an 11 year old Steeda Copper/brass radiator with stock fan assembly... I want something that will keep my motor cool (stock for now but will soon be a gt40x/gt40 302 n/a) in traffic and on occasional track visits.

Has anyone run this combo? It looks great but how does it work in real world experience?

how much is that kit?

you can simply get a summit universal radiator and go to a yard and get a taurus or the mark fan which will keep a big rig cool although honestly a na 302 with heads shouldn't be that hard to keep cool so just make sure you don't have some bs going on before you spend any money...

The kit retails for ~$800. I understand i could piece a kit together cheaper but this is ready, available and i'm having a shop do the install since it'll already be down there for alot of other stuff.

I have had this this set up for 3 years. I bought it for my procharged 92 hatch but there was not enough clearance between the sc tensioner pulleys and the fan so it went on my KB vert which later became a NA stoker car. Now its in my 92 hatch with 349 stroker and 150 shot. This is a great set up, will cool any motor but it is thicker than most and wouldnt work on either my procharged car or my On3 Turbo car.

I live in Phoenix, drive the car in 100-115 deg heat and have been known to make a few passes at Firebird and Speedworld.

Not sure, I've had it in and out a half dozen times and didnt notice any other markings. Its a very high quality piece imo and despite the turbo/procharger/kenne bell sc I had on the car most people who looked under the hood would ask where I got the radiator.

did you have a manual on/off switch for the fan wired up as well as the auto function?

Remember that street driving and drag racing don't test the cooling system at all compared to track driving. What keeps a drag car or street car cool may not be enough for a track car, ask me how I know.

No, just set up to come on automatically at 180.
