MM suspension +00R Brakes = Which CCW Wheels?

Looking to order a set of CCW wheels for my 93 GT. I currently have 95R wheels on it with 255 tires since thats all that would fit on the front with the stock front end and i wanted to be able to rotate the tires.

I soon will be installing an MM front K-Member and rear torque arm/PHB package on the car with coilovers all around. I'll be running a side exhaust on the car and i wish to get at least 275 tires all around.

My question to you guys is, what specs should i order the CCW wheels in and will wider than 275 tires fit without extensive fender modifications?

Edit: Just talked to CCW and a guy there (very helpful) suggested i go with a set of the 18" C10s as they would be stronger (for the track), no spacer for my current brake set up and it would open the door for a 14" brake package. Any thoughts? anyone running 18s on a fox at the track? (Local tracks are VIR and Summit Point)

I do run 18 CCW classics at VIR with the MM max grip box on the 88, but I also have some serious fender modifications. I run the maier 3" wide body fenders with massive tires. But, I can tell you from fooling around with my little 89 coupe tho, with 275s in back.. rolling the fenders is pretty much a must if you want to get it low and drive aggressively. Not sure about up front, the 89 has 245s in front with no issues.

Do you have the stock 4 lug, or did you do 5lug conversion? If so, which axels and spindels did you use? 4.5 backspacing should be close if stock length stuff was used I think.

hmm ok, so you're probably looking at an 18x9.5 w/ 4 1/4 to 4.5 back spacing for the rear...just need to get under there and see how much room ya got...can always do a little BFH work on the inside wheel well if need be. I just took a stock wheel and measured the back spacing on that, you should do the same just to make sure. The fronts with the sn95 spindles are going to be maybe 1/4 inch or less wider than stock (up for despute) so you'll have to take that into consideration on the fronts. You got the tires picked out yet?

hey Matt,

could you tell me what mods if any were needed to run the forward offset front control arms? Im debating on these vs the standard units currently depending on how much fender work is needed.

I was thinking about just picking up a set of 03 cobra wheels as well, but i always wanted a set of ccw classics...

What are the specs on the 2000R wheels? would they fit? I know they are 18x9.5 but what about backspacing?

My brackets to push the fender out are ghetto. Some others here made some with little turn buckles, pretty good idea if you ask me. I still have my fender liners although they have been trimmed a little in the front (toward front of car) Others completely removed their liners.

Stanger_Matt,
In the pics you posted, can you tell me what length rear axles those cars are running: SN-95 or Fox?

The 89 (Maroon LX) has a 98 Cobra rear end. My car (fox) has stock length axles w/ a 1/4" spacer in the rear

On an SN95, its fairly easy to get 18x10's.
I run 17x9-1/2" CCWs with 275's on my Fox, with Brembos...

p.s. Photo from this past weekend. WOW!!!

On the rear an 18x10 with a 6.5" bs with a 275 tire works with room to spare.

On the Front 18X9 with 2003 all Cobra with MM k-member & std control arms I would go with a 6.375" bs. This is what I run on my car.

DISCLAIMER!!!!!!!!!!! You must measure your car yourself. Take my advice, like everyone else on this board with a grain of salt..Be mindful on the TIRE to spring clearance. Fender rolling a must.

Yeah, I know its a carshow pic, and not a track pic but its the only one I have that is some what recent.. I would talk to Brad at CCW he has done many mustangs and can get you the offset that works / looks good.
