lowered 93 stang, gained + camber

cut half a coil on stock 4 cyl springs, car dropped nice and low in the front, feels pretty stiff with the tokico illuminas, however i gained a ton of toe in and a bit of positive camber. The toe i have set pretty bang on now, but im wondering why it gained positive camber and not negative? stock rack bushings still..would M/M c/c plates gain me some negative camber?

Assume the FCA is level at ride height and the car has zero front camber. If you then lower the car some more, the FCA is no longer level. The inner pivot must drop closer to the ground, while the outer pivot (ball joint) moves towards the centerline of the car. The strut mount stays in place during all of this as it is fixed.

Since the lower pivot moved inwards, and the upper pivot didn't move side to side at all, the camber must now be more negative.

If you repeat the exercise but start with the inner pivots are higher, then the tire will gain negative camber as the suspension is compressed, but only until the new FCA angle has the same magnitude as the starting FCA angle. Beyond that point, the car will start loosing camber again.

All of this is confirmed by the fact that you gained toe in as the ride height dropped.

c/c plates will definitely give you some negative camber.
