Installing Coil overs. Slight problem? Pic

Good news, I picked up a set of MM Coil overs with 275lb front rate springs 10". Only problem is I just barely finished my winter project of wire hidding and moving everything into the fenders.

Part of the wiring harness goes in through the hole in the rear of the drivers side strut tower then goes around toward the front. It clears the existing setup with more than 2.5" of room.

Am I screwed when I install the coil overs? omg I've spent DAYS working on this re-wiring project. Everything fits, just BARELY.

Here is a picture. The 2 red wires are going to the coil. I'll have them more secure against the tower itself before the splash shield goes back in.

Also any tips for install? I'm really excited.

I think there is a good chance it will hit. That metal lip is a common area for coil over springs to contact, at least on 99-04 cars, and that chunk of wire is right over it. Best thing to do would be to just fit the spring up and see. If it hits, the decision is already made for you. Could always be wrong though.

I just went out a snapped a pic of my C/Os on the 86 (MM for Bilsteins and 300# Hypercoils). It was difficult to do with the wheels on it and the front down due to the rear on stands. However, this may give you some
idea of what you are facing --->

Thanks guys. I have the hardware just not the springs. They'll be here from MM on Weds. I'll let you guys know. What a pain in the ass this winter project has become. 1 step forward, 10 steps back. I was so excited that the engine bay is cleaned up a ton. Hopefully it will stay this way.

Its what MM recommended with the torque arm with my strut/shocks.

Car seems really nice for the quick 3 mile drive I took it on.

Holy hell 425's you must feel every grain of gravel on the road.

When they are controlled properly (proper struts) its not that bad.

I am debating going up there from my 350 currently.

It's firm, but doesn't seem that much worse than when I had 300#ers on it. It's definitely better than when I had 1000# conventional front springs! During my drive up to Boston from Texas, the only place I noticed the stiff ride was once I was actually in the city of Boston. God, the roads are terrible up here. On the interstates, it was nice and smooth (even with me riding in an ultra shield road racing seat).

One more update. Drove it today about 60 miles. I'm in love. The front end has more bite! Also rides much smoother.

I do need an alignment though. Its at the same ride height as it was before. Guess that wasn't good enough.

Sooo...why don't you get out your spanner wrench and adjust it to lower the ride height?

Before I started, 25.5" fender to the ground. I adjusted the coil overs to the same exact height. Took a few trys but nailed it. Also my car has never sat this true on all 4 corners before. I was able to even out my rear spring perches. I'm within a 1/4" on everything, fricken awesome!
