CMP with porsche club

Thought you guys might want to check this out. This is running with the porsche club this past weekend at CMP Kerhaw, SC.

It was brutal on my brakes, had to continue to bleed them, and ate a whole set of pads and tires on 1 event. Was running Carbotech XB12's they rocked until they wore out, NT01 tires again the same lol.

the porsches guys were great to run with really nice fellas, they were amazed kept saying cant believe you can make a mustang that fast! lol

Enjoy
Jay

Thanks guys! It is street legal, and i still drive it to work sometimes.

It has Maxiumim Motorsports K Member with offset front A arms, bilestein coilovers, panhard and HD torque arm. Full length subframes and 6 point custom cage has 4piston Brembo up front with cobras rears brakes. Running NT01 tires 275 up front and 315 in rear and Carbotech brakes pad they are great!!!!

I just installed the torque arm before this track day. It made a HUGE difference.

Hard to find reviews of what the benefits of what a tq arm does. What I noticed is the rearend of the car feels so much more freely that when you turn in or accelerate out the rear has sooo much more grip. Straight line grip is a tad better, but the real benefit is cornering grip.

Not sure how fast was going through the kink think i saw 140 at the entrance maybe 105-110? Still learning to trust the car, i think at this point one of those American Iron wings would help for that kink.

Thanks again
Jay

You should try running NASA TT. It would be awesome to see fast Mustangs representing in NASA-SE. Keep the vids coming.

Great vids. Kicked some Porsche tail with a 300ZX TT thrown in for good measure. Whats your engine combination?
I'm surprised at how bad you cooked the brakes though. Darius seems to run really strong with the same brake setup although I believe he uses Hawk pads and 2-piece coleman rotors..?..

I think that Castrol brake fluid says it is not to be mixed with any other fluid. Perhaps that had a role to play in boiling the brake fluid? I have had good luck with the Wilwood 570 fluid. It is much cheaper and has a wet boiling point of 313 compared to the Castrol at 284. Dry boiling for the Castrol is 572 and the Wilwood is 570.

91 Road Racing Fox. N/A 383W. Full MM setup front and rear with Bilstein coil-overs. 14x1.25 Wilwood 6 piston fronts with Wilwood 13x1 single piston rears.

I have ran with Nasa HPDE4 TT before it is great time just havent been able to run as much as i would like due to $$$$$ I really like the open passing !

here is a clip from the TT lots has changed since then

They guy with the 300zx was nice he had fully built engine with twin turbos 15psi said it made 489rwhp

Running 331ci with TFS heads and intake with Vortech V2 SQ with 3.60 pulley (stock is 3.33) and stock lower pulley. about 9psi

I kinda screwed up on the brake fluid I put the motul in at least 6months ago or longer and never ran the car it sat a while which i think absorbed condensation. Thought it would be ok, well after the 3rd heat I was like hmm the pedal feels a little wierd, better slow down and 3 turns later the pedal went to the floor on turn 12 (last turn) i was only doing 85mph so i got it hauled down and in the pits. So i bled it with 1 liter of ate super blue and ran 2 more heats pedal did not feel very good after that so i bought the castrol and bled another liter through it then it seemed good the next day but my pads only had 2mm left on them which is worse for the brake fuild overheating problems so i bled just a little after every heat. CMP is brutal on brakes it kills them!

Jay,

Your engine sounds fantastic in that video!

One thing I just can't understand. Autometer makes about 2,835 models of tachometers, but not a single one of them has a linear rev range from 3,000-8,000 RPM, where 98% of all American V8s live on a racetrack.
