1995 mustang gt nitous set up

I've got a pretty much stock 5.0 Cai Long tube and bigger TB. I'm going to be running a zex 100 wet shot. My time now is 10 BTC and I want to know if that timing is okay to run or if I need to retard it more and what about colder plugs?

ten degrees base isn't much advance. Typically, I'd say pull 2-4 degrees to be safe on a 100 shot. Having the timing at factory spec may mean you will be ok to leave it there. I believe I ran 14 degrees base on my old fox and dropped it to 8 or 10 degrees for a 150 shot. It has been so long, I can barely remember the little details. Sorry I'm not much help.

Yes, get a colder plug. One step colder should be fine.

On 175hp dry shot, I ran 6* with spout out when setting it and 1 step colder plug. Of course this is a stone stock 5.0 engine so with aluminum heads you can get away with more timing. I also ran a little race fuel like 2 gallons to 5 gallons of regular 91oct fuel just to be safe.

But I agree with 150hp shot 8* should suffice especially if you have better than 91 octane fuel.
