Motor mounts for Fox body with BG kit?

I have an 89 GT with wore out motor mounts, and a BG street kit is about to go on. I thought I had read something about certain mounts not working because they raise or lower the engine slightly which interferes with the tight clearances on the passenger's side. Anyone got any info on this?

Oh well, they're just headaches anyway. Especially with turdos on them >:p

From what I recall Brian said to use the Energy Suspension mounts. I do recall that he said his kit would NOT work with the convertible mounts.

My kit is 2 years old, and still in the closet, so I am not sure if anything has changed since then. Worse case shoot him an email or post over on theturboforms.com, he usually posts over there.
Well how ironic, my kit has been sitting in the closet for 2 years too :p I'll do a search to see if I can get more info. Thanks guys.

I just installed a BG kit and used energy suspension polys and the only trouble I had was the fitting on the bottom of the wastegate hitting the bottom of the frame slightly which was cured with a 1" holesaw and had to notch sway bar mount on driver side. And you cannot install motor with the manifolds bolted.

From what i've seen with my kit, the only areas the motor mounts should affect are hitting the drivers side swaybar mount and the passenger side frame rail lip. Even if they are the wrong mounts, you should be able to get the headers somewhat close. Of course the wastegate when you get that far. This is without ac tho.

87pony...do you have the upper intake and valve covers removed? They need to be off for a little more room. Do everything the instructions state and they will go on problem free. Do you have them...if not, shoot me an email and i'll send you the ones Brian sent me for powerpoint. NoSloCoupes at hotmail

I spoke to Brian when I ordered my kit, he said you could use Convert mounts and gave me a way to measure if the turbo kit would fit.

?Basically you take a string and run it across from one frame rail to the other, if the center part of the balancer(hub where pulley sits) is below the string your kit will not fit. I put spacers between the motor mount and the block and now the hub is above the string and everything should be okay.
