Well, I figured if I sell my other truck I could afford a 2500-3200 supercharger kit. I can get the fms 6psi powerdyne from summit for 2029.00, the powerdyne 6 psi for 2995.00, the kenne bell 1500 6 psi kit for 3199, or the vortech s-trim for 3095.00. Which kit is the most complete, best performing, most reliable, etc. Any advice from experience would be appreciated.
It's all according to how you intend on using your truck ?!
Towing & Big-Block-Like torque,......... Kenne Bell 2200
1/4 mile racing & most power,.............Vortech
Street, with ocasional strip pass,..........Power-Dyne
I've had a Dyne,......and now have a Vortech. Best move I ever made! I went from a 12.97 @ 104 with the Dyne,.........to a 12.41 @ 108 with the Vortech. No other changes !! :joy:
Hey 93whitelightning,did you convert to mass air.If not how did you get the speed density computer from screwing up at wot.I've heard of using a check valve to the map sensor but I;m not sure how to do that.Any help would be appreciated..
Actually, the Novi 2000 is a better blower than the Vortech S and T trim. I believe there was even an article that showed it out performing the YS-Trim. They are both excellent blowers though.
Quality is top notch on both.
I'm from Michigan and I have the kenne-bell 1500 on my truck running around 7lbs. It is great for towing and playing around town. At the track I believe they will put a stock Lightning around a 14.4. Like what 93WHITELIGHTNING said, just depends on how you use it. PM me if your interested in checking it out some time. I'm up in Midland right now. - Brian

I am still runnig S/D and I have no problems i am running a EEC tuner with 42lb inj and a vortech t-trim with 20psi of boost It all depends on the cam that is the main thing when staying s/d you have to keep it around stock lobe sep 114.
Hey Justin..Do you run a check valve to prevent the MAP sensor from getting boost.Although I'm doing this in a Mustang,I'm figuring the same rules apply.I'm using a Crane Interceptor ll,and the car runs great until WOT or boost comes on.I think boost is getting to the Map sensor and it puts the EEC into a brain cramp.I'm currently running one check valve but maybe I need to run two.Just wondering what you did to correct that problem..or is it a non issue in Lightnings?...Thanks...

yeah ill agree with that but no one makes a novi2000 kit for lightnings so that choice is not an option (unless you can fab your own brackets and such)
im running stock heads and cam with a ys trim at 15 #s boost. ive run a best of 11.74 @ 113 with this setup thru a intercooler. im partial to the ys out of all of them...vortechs reliability cant be beat....hands down.
