1 sweet t-topped 86/price reduced $7000

I have a VERY nice 86 for sale with t-tops.The car has 86,000 original miles and was completely restored to like new.Even the underside of the car looks new.The engine was rebuilt about 7,000 miles ago and the heads were done along with the Explorer intake. I have yet to see one nicer. It also has nitrous but has never been used and was also converted to 5 lug. Please email me for more pics or with any questions. You can also call me at 641-430-2425.I'm asking $7800 for it.

Just thought I'd add that it was appraised between $10,500 & $11,000.

Probably because for $10,000 people can buy a car that nice with a blower, turbo, much nicer wheels, full suspension, etc.

Nice car, just not priced accordingly.

What I'm saying is that I see people all over 86's for around $6500 and none of those cars are near as nice as mine, some have a little rust,or need a few small things,or even paint and they are all over those. For a thousand more buck's they could have mine and it's show quality. That's all that I was trying to say.

Id say yours is worth probably about 5-6k. Who on corral pays 6500 for
something worse than yours? Not me. Im probably going to go grab a mostly original 85 GT, new red paint (not black stripe) and rebuilt motor (5k). For 4000. So.. Im alittle skeptical about a 11k appraisal, without factory interior,
motor, or exterior. The all original, entirely, bring the big bucks.

I dare you to find a 86 5.0 with t-tops as nice as mine. You can find 87-93 all over the place.Try to find an 86 thats not turned into a drag car or any 86 as nice as mine. $3000 to $4000 for mine, you must be thinking of your car polter83

Im not doubting its clean. But the price is off & its LX car (v6 original?)
and theres just a few cosmetic things interior wise and engine bay wise
that I find kinda untasteful. I did offered you a bonestock '89 coupe a week or so ago.. An Original V8 car, with 75k miles verified. Straight up... shrug.. I think I jumped the gun..

Its still clean, but I dont know you got it apreaised for 10k.

Either way, I sold my car...Im working on the next stang...Ill have a 4-eyes one way or another.. Good luck with the sell.

It is an original V-8 and I don't know what the problem is with the engine bay.Just to let you know that I have sold 2 86 mustangs in the last few years and have got about $6500 out of both of them, and this car is nicer than both of those. These cars are getting harder to find and I think will hold their value well. But it's all in what someone is willing to pay, thats what it comes down too.Good luck on finding the one your looking for.

originality = money

bottom line, all the original is woth more, plus those in the know can tell it is not a gt, it would be pretty foolish to toss the gt front bumper, interior and mouldings i guess the answer to that is you like the lx ones better, or you sold the thousands of dollars worth of gt parts that are missing to finance the aftermarket seats or the fancy 5-lugs?????

Price is still alittle high.. it really just maybe we're in different areas, thats all.

Truthfully I assumed b/c of the bumper, it was not an original v8, but a v6 rather. However, I havent decifered the vin. So, Its an assumption.

Either way.. for some comparison.. I just got a blk 86 gt ttop w/ 89k original, systemax engine kit on it, and yes it cleared, tremec 5spd, 2001 cobra wheels, 4disc, great interior, 3.73, moser axles, all air/fuel supporting eq, repainted all black 2yrs ago, full bbk exhaust, all new rubber seals etc. TONS of extra parts.. $4200 cash.

I think its a sweet car. If I didn't have so many cars already I 'd be interested.
I think it looks different enough to be worth something, but no, I wouldn't pay that high either.

1 bad Mustang, 2 slow Z28's, and a Sierra crewcab for the groceries.

Your saying you don't think it's worth $7000? It's one of those cars you have to see in person, the photos don't do it any justice.

If you have any more pics can you please send them to [email protected]? I'm very interested in the car. By any chance are you going to World Ford Challenge next week in St. Louis?

Thanks,
Nick
