Custom 1986 for sale in Midwest

My daily driver, a Ford Exploder, has just died so I must sell my stang to get a new car. I have a pretty long drive to work every day, so I need to get something a little more practical :-)

This mustang is an '86 LX with a 92 front and back end. Also has t-tops which just had new weatherstripping installed. Car was built from the ground up about 5 years ago (not by me). It has the following:

Typhoon upper and lower intake
BBK Equal Length Headers
Mac H Pipe (also comes with brand new catalytic coverters for emissions time)
Flowmaster 2 chamber mufflers
2 1/2 Mac tail pipes
Motorsport 3.55 gear
Eibach Springs
Subframe Connectors
90-10 Front drag shocks
K&N air filter
Ported heads
Motorsport 9mm race wires
Hurst shifter

I am having new brakes and tires put on the car tomorrow. I can include Centerline rims if you want for an extra $400.

I am setting my price at $3500. I am in the Chicagoland area, and am willing to work with you on shipping.

EDIT: My phone number is 219-616-7424.

It has around 115k on the body and around 30k on the engine since it's been rebuilt.

If you were closer, you'd have the money in your hand. Just for grins, any idea on shipping costs?

I assume the motor and paint were done when the car was built 5 years ago. Stock rebuild? Do I see mass air? Ported 86 heads? Any details you can provide on the paint/body?

T-top fox mustangs are such fascinating creatures. They look so odd but I am still drawn to them...

Yes, it was a stock rebuild, with mass air and ported hears. The body is in pretty decent shape, with a pearlescent blue paint, which looks really sharp in the summer. About a month or two ago, I was in a mall parking lot, parked pretty far from the entrance, but sure enough, someone bumped the rear end, taking off some paint, and breaking the rear trim behind the tire. I haven't had a chance to get it touched up yet. Other than that, the body is in great shape!

Phorty, you wanna come check it out? I could meet you part way if need be, I work in Crete.

I'm not quite, I've never shipped a car before to tell you the truth. I would say somewhere around 500-600. I will get an exact amount tomorrow, now I'm curious as well :-)

What is your zip code?

EDIT: I called a auto shipper today, and asked what it would cost to transport from Chicago to New York City, and it will be around $600. Today is Saturday and a lot of places aren't open, but if you want, I can call around, and get some prices. I can work with you on the price of shipping, as I need to sell fairly soon.

I'm going to hold off until I can see if a couple of vehicles that I have been looking at pan out. I'll keep you in mind though...

Any chance of you coming down to around $2700? Maybe you can take a few parts off? Not trying to lowball, just real shy on cash.
