86 2.3 Coupe For Sale

This car is in really good shape, was a southern Missouri car and didn't see snow except for 2 years when my son had it. The car does not have any rust holes, but does have some surface rust starting on door inside bottom seams. The car runs and drives good. The engine was rebuilt in 2007 and has about 25K miles now. The rest of the car has 154K miles on it. The car was repainted in 2007 with the current paint you see. The front bumper is peeling due to a poor flexer additive. This car is an excellent candidate for a 5.0/4.6 engine transplant. Kenny Brown subframe connectors and MM jacking rails are already installed. Asking $1,500.

FYI, the car is located in Platteville, WI. I'm selling it because I build my son a 92 5.0 and I just don't need another project!

WOW at the wing.. Hope that was already on there.

What condition are the chrome ponies and tires? Any interior, engine bay, door seam shots?

Yeah, I tried and tried to talk him out of that boy racer wing but he just HAD to have it! So now it goes with the car ... don't think I'll be putting it on my LX! Thankfully the 92 5.0 we built together has a simple factory LX wing and he's happy with it! I'll post pics when I can, not in a position to do it today. The ponys are in excellent shape, no dings or rust on them. The front tires are 90% tread, rears about 50%.

Here's some shot of the car's door bottoms, etc. You can see from the two shots of the frame rails by the strut towers they are not rusted at all and this is a highly corrosion prone area on Fox bodies. Ditto the lower rear fender inner panels, as you can see there is only a bit of surface rust. Another rust prone area is where the lower firewall panel meets the floorpan, again only some surface rust. The carpet was new 3 yrs ago and he's been using floor mats, I took them out to show the carpet is in great shape. Car originally had blue interior and the seats are still original LX seats.

The car was stripped and repainted. You can see from the two "in-progress" shots the body is in great shape.

Forgot to take pics of the rims but they are in good shape. More pics in next post.

That big ugly wing is really gonna turn alot of Mustang enthusiast off from buying the car. Get rid of it and the car will sale a whole lot faster IMO. Good luck with the sale.

Well I highly doubt anyone is going to buy this car to keep it as is. I fully expected it to be bought and rebuilt with a 5.0 or 4.6 swap since the body is immaculate. I'd say anyone with a real intent to buy is going to look past the big, ugly wing.
