Curious as to where the original body kit is? That stuff is pricey for the 4 eye cars. Might have better luck selling it on a ricer site.

your kit is worth more than the car! It needs a total restoration. What Saleen parts are still on the car besides the wing and wheels?

It's not hard to find a nice 85 or 86. Expect to spend around 10-15K for one that has everything original. You can find one cheaper if you are patient. To restore the one you call nice would mean a total repaint $4500, all new weatherstripping, seat covers $2K, ground effects $2500, and not to mention you have to strip the car to a bare shell because some moron painted it pastel neon green with a ricer stripe. The only Saleen part on the car is the rear wing. I would pass on this one because there is no longer enough Saleen parts in useable condition on it to make it worth my time.

It will be relisted. Shill bidding. No one in their right mind would pay 8k for what is basically a 86 GT that at one time was a Saleen.

Once a Saleen alwasy a saleen! that is like saying a 66 Shelby missing all it's Parts is not a 66 Shelby, Ever priced a 66 GT 350 Shell?? They are NOT CHEAP. One day a 4 eyed Saleen will be worth big bucks.

Just bought this for $3800. Interior is pretty good. Original leftover 85 hayashi wheels and bilstein shocks. My God he painted EVERYTHING on the exterior green. I'm starting to look for body kit parts. Any help is appreciated.

Couple good resources Tom.

I believe that car came with the 85 ground effects kit. The 86 will be period correct for the car and would do great until you could source the 85 pieces which will take some time until a company will reproduce them. Good luck with your build.

i was the high bidder on this at about 2k+ a while back, right before it ended he ended it. He had it listed as a no reserve. ANyways happy to see someone is going to restore it best of luck. I would check 4eyedpride.com sometimes you see saleen parts floating around.

Hey its been a while, thought id update you on progress, Green paint removal by hand has been time consuming, but I made the kids help. Original Hayashis restored up nice with original Gatorbacks for shows. New clutch, radiator, rear shocks and springs. Front brakes (87-93 11 inchers), struts and springs go in this week. Bought a new front spoiler and side skirts (86 style) and 85 rear spats, and a correct Kenwood KRC6000. Total investment so far: $1950 (plus $3800 for the car)...

In the pic of the sanded car, what are those rear wheels? They look like Ultra wheels I have on my '86.

Good luck with your project. I guess it's worth it if you really love the 84-86 Saleens. I just fear that by the time your done you will have spent enough to have bought a nicer car to begin with. Not trying to rain on your parade. I'm sure it will turn out very nice judging from the work you have already done.
