SOLD 1982 Notch 5.0/T5/EFI 5-Lug North NJ

All exterior/interior pictures located at:

Steve's Mustang - gtluke.com - NoTights.com - RallyAddict.com

EDIT - Additional under-car pictures at:
Additional pictures

1982 Mustang with very low miles. I bought the car with about 35,000 miles as a 4 cylinder automatic. I had my 1990 Mustang 5.0/T5 stock daily driver and a 1996 Mustang GT Shell and converted over the 1982 as clean as possible. I strived for "stock appearing" wherever possible.

Chassis
Stock except Maximum Motorsports full length subframe connectors

Engine:
Stock 1990 5.0. I never opened it up, previous owner said all he did was change a leaky oil pan gasket.
1990 engine harness
Stainless shorty headers.
Solid Motor Mounts
Thermactor pump removed, heads properly plugged in the rear & resistors in the harness for the computer.

Transmission
Rebuilt 1990 transmission w/ Hanlon kit. Stock rebuild except earlier tooth count speedometer gear that works better with lower gear ratios.
1990 Driveshaft

Front Suspension
1982 Lower Control Arms
SN95 Ford takeoff struts w/ Coil-Overs
Maximum Motorsports caster/camber plates
1996 GT Spindles & Brakes

Rear Suspension
Pro3i lower control arms w/ 3 piece urethane one end, spherical bearing other.
Stock low mileage upper arms
I forget which rear springs but I believe they are 1996 GT

Rear Axle
1996 Rear w/ Disk Brakes. Rebuilt differential with alternating friction disc setup.
4.10 Ford Motorsport Gears
Explorer Aluminum Cover

Electrical:
3G alternator upgrade in 1990 alternator bracket.

Fuel System:
1996 EFI Tank with 1996 style 3/8" output (Fox is 5/16")
Aluminum 3/8" feed/return lines to the front, Stock style Nylon 11 lines connecting hardlines.

Wheels
1999 Mustang GT Wheels
Yokohama H4S High Performance Summer tires w/ less than 200 miles on them

Front Bumper is aluminum. Rear bumper is steel, spare aluminum bumper is included

Interior/Exterior:
Stock 1982 Interior except for Aiwa dash CD radio (green lights to match the stock dash lights)
Headliner cloth is falling down like every other headliner from that era.
Typical paint marks, etc that you would expect.
NEVER in an accident but it's definitely not the greatest paint.

Exhaust:
Stainless shorty headers
Catted H-Pipe (Two cats)
Dynomax 2-1/4" cat-back

Steering:
1982 Manual steering. Will include full 1990 power steering setup (Pump/Lines/Rack). I also have the 1996 Tie rod setup to include.

Brakes:
1996 Front/Rear disks w/ matching Manual brakes. Correct firewall bracket and pedal assembly.

Comes with Chiltons/Haynes Manual along with 1981 Ford Manuals and Ford electrical diagrams.

Issues:

Haven't connected the horn. The original horn and a bunch of others can go with the car. I think I took it off to mount it in a more hidden place?
Speedometer isn't working Not sure if it's the cable or the gear in or at the transmission. Cable itself seems fine.
Passenger seat needs to be bolted down fully, I can never remember to find metric nuts.
Few interior pieces need to be put back that I keep forgetting about. like the cover around the steering wheel and fuse box. Computer isn't mounted, sitting on the passenger floor. Heater works well.

I like the car and it was a fun project. I just don't have time to enjoy it and I need to move on.

Factory non a/c car. Goes along with the rest of the stripper motif.

It has the non a/c heater box that is smaller, lighter and has 15 minute heater core changes.

I can't remember off the top of my head but I believe it's a Lincoln or jeep mc. I went through a couple. Stock is 7/8 if I recall correctly then I tried 15/16 then 1".

I think... I will try to look it up when I get to nj.

Not really interested in a trade. Well, I'd trade for a good mountain bike, but I doubt that's gonna happen.

Thanks.

So it looks like the battery isn't holding a charge over the winter. I charged the battery and the car started up first try and sounded real good while I let it idle. If the weather is good tomorrow I'll take it to work.

$100 off for the buyer to buy a new battery.

damn this thing is still for sale, I wish I would have came across it before I bought my car. If I can somehow sell it soon, I'll be all over this thing, until then I'll spread the word

Man, if I wasn't already in my '68 project I would buy this car in a heartbeat. I hope it goes to a good home.

My yearly insurance runs out at the beginning of June. If someone buys it before then I'll gladly drop the $150 cost of insurance off the car.

Lowered the price.

It's nice out yet I keep riding my bike instead of driving the car.

Would you trust this car to make a 1000 mile drive to FL if I fly in and drive home?

Only thing that would concern me is the heater core is leaking but I have a new one to go in on Wed. (It's a 15 minute job on a non A/C car)

Speedometer is not working for some reason, but more importantly the gas gauge does.

Let me know if you have any questions.

I am interested in the car. You'd have to meet me at Neward airport though. Not too worried about the heater core, but if you are replacing it anyway, cool.

I just want to make it back home.
