F/S 1985 Supercharged Mustang GT, and Trailer. Take a look.

I have finally made the concious discision to place my car up for sale. Everyone asks why in these things so here you go. I built the car for the dragstrip but also do drive around on the street on nice days. I currently live in Nantucket Island which is 30 miles out to sea off of the coast of Cape Cod MA. In order to go to the drag strip it costs me $1000 just to get the car and trailor there and back because of the boat and fuel costs. It has taken me years to realize that this just isn't going to work well for me and my bank account. I'm also getting married in December and could use the cash.

So, For Sale is my 1985 Ford Mustang GT with T-tops. Over the last 6 years I have stripped this car of everything that Ford put on it. Literally everything on this car is brand new. When I was building it I planned to drive it "all the time" but truth is I rarely take it our of the climate controled garage it lives in. I only have just over 600 miles on the car. The motor has been properly broken in with the use of a chassis dyno. Below you will find a small breakdown of whats in the car.

Body:
1985 Ford Mustang GT with T-tops
1987 Front clip
Brand new headlights/turn signals.
4" Harwood Cowl hood
SOS Eliminator Pro rear wing (not installed, NIB)
Brand new T-top, door and hatch weather stripping from 5.O Resto
Completely rust free doors with power windows/locks.

DMC Racing in Halifax MA has done the following chassis work:
I challenge you to find a nicer cage...
8 point Cromoly Roll Cage with through the floor subrames connected to the main hoop. Cage goes through the dash.
The cage is also tied into the upper torque boxes from the main hoop.
Both upper and lower Torque boxes have already been reinforced.
Custom made Stroud Window net.
Custom anti roll bar for the rear to clear my exhaust.
Rear fender lips trimmed to clear rear tires.

Engine:
Sportsman Block, fully studded with a DSS main girdle and windage tray.
Canton 7 quart pan with oil drain for supercharger.
Scat Forged stroker crank (double keyed), H-Beam rods, SRP Blower dished pistons. Engine displaces 342 CI.
High presure oil pump and hardened shaft.
Anderson Motorsports B-41 Cam. (specs to callers, will not post)
AFR 205 heads that have been machined with O-rings installed.
Harland Sharp Roller Rockers (specially for the 205's as were there issues with other brands)
Victor Jr. intake port matched to the 205's.
Moroso Ultra 40 Race wires
Innovator West Balancer

Superchager and other related items:
Custom C&S Billet Aerosol 800cfm carb (built for this engine)
Novi 2000 Polished supercharger with custom tensioner from SDCE (see below for more info)
Custom Aluminum blower tubing (powder coated) with Procharger Big Red Race Bypass.
Snow Performance Stage 2 Methinol Injection Kit
Space 3" upper pulley and shorter belt for more boost. (currently running 11psi)
Innovate Motorsports XD-16 stand alone A/F guage.
Electronic Crank Case EVAC pump and catch can (controled by Ignition box)
Griffin aluminum Radiator
Spal twin 11" electric fans
DCC fan controler

Exhaust:
Hooker Supercomp 1 3/4 long tube headers that have been ceramic coated.
Custom 3" Stainless Steel Exhaust with X-pipe and Borla XR-1 mufflers.
This exhaust is literally a work of art. It was constucted so sections can be dropped out while other remain on the car.
It cost me over $3,000 and will last forever. Words honestly don't do it justice. It must be seen in person.

Fuel System:
Custom sumped fuel tank which has been powder coated in "wet black". Again, will last forever.
Aeromotive A1000 pump with required filters
Aeromotive tank insert for return line.
Aeromotive FP regulator.
The whole car is plummed with -10 feed and -8 return braided lines.
FP guage is mounted outside of the passenger compartment on left side of cowl.

Ignition:
MSD Digital 7, 7531 (has traction control).
MSD HVC Coil
MSD Billit Distributor

Transmission:
Tremec TKO II
Motorsport Aluminum driveshaft
Quicktime SFI approved Bellhousing and extended clutch fork
Spec Stage 3 Clutch with Billet Steel flywheel.
Pro 5.0 Shifter

Rear end / suspension.
Custom made 8.8 with 9 inch ends welded on. (stock length) Axle tubes have also been welded to center section.
Rear end is powder coated black.
T/A rear girdle.
CHE Axle tube girdle with pumpkin brace.
Strange SS Axles with 5/8's studds. (31 spline, for use with 9 inch ends)
Strange 3.73 rear gear set.
Stock drums in the rear, but completely brand new. Drums themselves have aslo been poweder coated black.
UMI double adjustable upper control arms and single adjustable lowers with spherical rod ends.
Lakewood 50/50 shocks, stock coils.

Front Suspension:
QA1 tubular K-member with tubular arms.
1987 spindles with cross drilled rotors and stock calipers with 3 inch studs. Braided russel brake lines.
Lakewood 70/30 installed but comes with QA1 adjustables (not installed yet)
Coil over Conversion with 175lb springs.
Adjustable camber-caster plates

Wheels-Tires:
Bogard D10's, front 15x3.5 rear 15x8. (on car now) These are PERFECT...and the best looking wheel ever!
Weld Draglights (same sizes, but not installed now)
Mickey Thompson SR radial fronts (26x4)
Mickey Thompson ET Street Radials (275-60-15)

Interior:
The whole interior has been coated with Dynamat Extreme.
Brand new front section of the carpet. Rear hatch area needs to be done still.
Corbeau seats, getting a little warn, but super comfortable.
Florida 5.0 guage cluster. The second one ever for 1985-86 cars. and the only one I believe with 5 inch guages.
(It took 2 years to get this made and cost me over $1000)
Loaded with full assortment of Autometer Ultra light guages. (electric speedo)
Autometer Ultra light Digital VAC/Boost guage.

This is just a small list of really whats in this car. I stopped counting when my expenditures in this car reached $50,000. I just came back from SDCE in West Warwick RI where it was tuned by Scott. In its current trim it (street, conservitave tune) it made 582 rwhp at 6500rpm. Interestingly enough it had not reached peak HP level even at this RPM. The motor also makes 500rwtq
from 3500 on up. It literally only dropped 1 rwtq until 6500. Scott worked his magic with this thing and it drives like a dream.

As you can see by the pix in does need to be painted. There is very minor rust over the right rear wheel well but thats about it. If I don't sell it I will blow it all apart again and it will be painted Viper Graphite Matalic.

Along with the car will go its 24ft Dove tail open trailor with Honda Generator.
Also with the vehicle you will get every space part, nut, bolt, ect that goes to it. Literally everything. Just bring a truck, hook up and away you go.

If it sells to a person in MA, I would even consider letting my prized "1320FT" license plate go with it. Below are just a few pix of the car, but I have a ton more. Feel free to call me with any questions you have.

My askinig price for everything is $27,000.

Thanks for your interest.

It is a great car. The only downfall is the amount of money invested. You built it right, which costs money. Right now people are looking to steal cars for cheap and I'm one of them!!! Good luck with the sale.

So here's the deal. I found the exact car I want next but I need this to go first.

I never thought I'd say this but here goes....

$21,500 takes everything including all space parts and the trailer
OR
$20,000 takes the car + parts.

This is honestly stupid low, and I am taking a god damn a$$ reaming on this but the hell with it. I'm getting married on Dec 4th so I'll have a hot ass wife to drowned my sorrows in....

COME GET IT! You will never find a better deal than this....period.

Thumbs down

^ Thanks for taking the time to write that, you are a great help.

From a cop too....mdpd. Well gues what "brother" so am I. Funny how you bag on my car for $20K but you're also looking at a completely stock hatch with 37K miles on it for $8K. Good luck with your search, you will get what you pay for.

The last price I posted + what I have saved already is what I need for my next toy. I will not take bellow that. If its not sold in the next few months I'll just keep it and paint it. Not the end of the world, I was just looking to change venues....

Its a tough market right now, that's for sure. Your car has some really nice parts on it and its clear you've put some money in that thing. I think the fact it needs to be painted is hurting your ability to sell it at the price you're asking, and maybe the fact its only a Sportsman block, and not a Dart or R302 4bolt bottom end block.

I'm not trashing you're car here at all. Its very nice, I'm just giving you some honest feedback, that's all. When you see the cars that are out there right now in the price range you're asking, they often have all that your car has, plus the above items I've mentioned.

Maybe just keep it for now, get it painted, enjoy it with you're new wife, and then sell it when you guys need some cash in the days ahead. Congrats on the marriage, BTW!

I know the lack of paint is hurting it, but if I paint it I will do it like I've done the rest of the car...."right." Knowing me I will spend 6-7K on the paint job and other things. After that it will be absolutely perfect...but still not what I want at this point. I just can't throw that kind of cash into it...again...knowing that I won't ever be able to get any of that back. Plus, let the new owner paint it what ever color they want.

As far as the block, I know. It was the best I could get my hands on when I built it. The R302s and A4s were still only being used by the racers and very hard to get in good condition. Plus, when the B50 came out they rated it way higher than its power rating now. If I had a diff block in it it would be pushing 17-18psi and another 100rwhp at least at. It set this way to be nice and safe.

Anyway, if it doesn't go, its not the end of the world. I don't owe anything on it, and have the cash to get the paint job I want sitting in the bank. We'll see what happens. I might be willing to take a grand or so less than my final asking price...but only for the right person

27k for that car, Are you serious? With the paint, and a four lug rear on a car that's carb'ed? I wish you luck, because I'm sorry to say you may get 8-10k out of that car man with the trailer, sorry for your loss. With the trailer.......Oh my god, and you don't have the 85 nose on it? I realize you have some money into it, but 50k total? I think you are full of shi# man.

He's not asking $50,000 .He's just telling what's in the car, & parts. I know I had $30k in mine and it wasn't near as nice as his.

The guy is obviously an idiot, pay no mind to him. Keep it for now is my advice to you. The economy is affecting everything, not just car sales. Not too many people have 25k laying around and if they do,they are holding on to it not knowing what the future holds. Plus the banks are not giving loans especially for an older car. Plus equity loans and regular home loans have become scarce cause people owe more on their homes than what they are worth. All this means that people are buying 2-10k dollar cars right now cause its less of a financial hit/risk. Again, this is my opinion. You can tell that you have spent money on this car with good parts but unfortunately we lose our asses when we sell, including myself. I have spent well over 25k on my car through the years but could only probably sell it in this market for 10k. Keep it for now, paint it,keep enjoying it,and sell it in a year or two.

Thanks guys for chiming in in my defense. 2010GT...I assume thats the car you FINANCED and the fact that you have 11 posts over all gives me the impression that you are new to the game. So, your opinion means nothing to me, or anyone else here.

Just for you info too, yes it has 4 lugs...and they are strange 5/8ths studs which are actually stronger than a normal 1/2 inch 5 lug setup. There are plenty of cars running realstreet with my same setup. Anyway, I have spent a ton of money on this car, those that bash it should maybe do a search for my listed parts and see what everything retails for. Do you have a $3000.00 stainless steal exhaust?.....I do.

For the other haters, keep your comments to yourself.

My old car:
1985 GT with T-tops. Sportsman based 342, AFR 205's into a Vic Jr. and a C&S Billet Aerosol 800 carb fed by a Novi 2K, MSD Digital 7531. Street tune is 582rwhp at 6500rpm . Tube K-member and arms. Built 8.8 with 9 inch ends. Cage and chassis work by DMC Racing. Tuning by SD Concepts.

Looks like a very well built car. Will be hard to get the money out of it though. I currently have 2002 gt that probably has about the same amount invested in it as your car. Car only has 14,500 miles on it and is near perfect cond. I'm asking less than you are and am having a hard time selling it. I'm in the situation where I really need to sell the car but at the same time I am already taking a huge loss and not going to give the car away.

I don't think people realize what it takes to build a car anymore. I have well over $3800 in just my tires/wheels, rearend and Aerospace brakes. And I did all the work myself!! Don't let people pi$$ you off. Nice car with quality parts!! Good luck with the sale. Couldn't begin to build your car for what your asking. Most of the negativity comes from people who couldn't afford the cage let alone the whole car.
