86 GT vert body/interior

anyone interested in this body/interior. its a running driving car right now, but i want a hatchback and I dont want to get rid of this motor/trans/rearend/suspension, and I dont want to piece out the car. I want the body to go to someone who will build it. the car is very solid, but the doors do have rust starting in the lower inner seams but has not gone through anywhere. sturt towers are like new, no rust. quarters and fenders are solid. top is about 95%, doesnt leak, new carpet and upholstery a few years ago. perfect dashpad. body is arrow straight. i will keep the motor, trans, driveshaft, rear axle assembly, wheels, tires, exhaust, and suspension/brakes/rack. up for sale is the entire body and interior. interior is black and maroon tweed by Basham's upholstery. perfect dashpad. doorpanels are perfect other than the carpet at the bottoms are loose. i would be willing to keep the hood, nose, taillights, and rear bumper if youre not interested in them. title is clear, i have had this car garage kept and summer-only driven since oct 1999. email questions and offers to [email protected]

i also have a set of absolutely rust free 87 vert doors that can be negotiated with the car...

It is currently a carbed GT40 engine, but was originally an EFI car. I still have the wiring harness for it, and it was updated to mass air already. I still have all the original stuff for the car, in case one day I wanted to restore it. any or all of this may be negotiated as well....original motor (complete, ran fine, about 110,000 miles), original AOD (shifted perfectly, also about 110,000 miles), 3.27 gearset (perfect), wiring harness for EFI, white door panels, front brakes/spindles/rotors/calipers, headers, h-pipe.

i was a collision tech a few years ago and stripped the car to the metal and straightened out any waves and dings. it is about as straight as you can get it. The only body issues are the rust starting in the lower doors and some rock chips from driving it. there is a crack in the paint on the front bumper cover where some dumbass backed into it lightly in a parking lot, but it wont show up in the pictures.

a set of absolutely rust free, although with the normal door dings, doors from an 87 vert GT could be negotiated off of me too, but not without the car itself.

I am the third owner. First owners were an older couple in Lexington. Second owner had it a few months, put a new top and tires on it, and sold it to me. Ive had it since Oct 1999, the title shows a title print date of Nov 1999, no liens

make an offer. I know that the parts alone on the body and interior would bring $1000+, so somewhere in that ballpark. But, i dont want to part it out. I want to see someone build it. Its been a fun toy, but i am building a 393 and a convertible will not hold up to that power in my mind, plus, i prefer a hatchback. someone out there somewhere needs a rust free solid vert body....

make an offer. trades for hatchbacks WITH TITLES are a possibility.

email me at [email protected] and i will send along more pictures, its a PITA to get them up on here

You say you have the original engine and tranny available? I've got an 88gt hatch (still speed density) that runs and drives I'd possibly trade. Need better pics sent to [email protected] please (interior and top pix please) also if you could include some with the rust on the doors (so I can see how bad it is) maybe we can do some negotiating

so bring it on over already!

I don't have the means to pick up from far away but I hope you find the right buyer! good luck with the sale.

Got them and I'll be sending you an email to discuss the prospect either tonight or tomorrow. I've got to check and see how hard its going to be to get a trailer to put both my car on, and yours should you accept the trade.

I have clear title in hand btw IN MY NAME so no worries about that.

okay, to answer a few guys, it would take $4000 to buy it as is. all new suspension with all energy suspension urethane bushings, MOOG joints and Gabriel struts....new 3.90 and limited slip. 7000 miles on the TKO and clutch. TFS stage 1 cammed explorer motor (all new bearings and rings and seals) with real gt40's shaved .030/3 angle valve job/bowl ported/crane springs....tweed upholstered seats and new carpet, perfect dashpad, top is about 95% and doesnt leak. body is super straight, paint is nice too. spare rust free doors...new summit 5 star wheels....87 GT front brake upgrade....new catted h-pipe and imitation flowmaster exhaust, and all the original spare parts i took off the car over the years, including the original wiring harness already converted to mass air, but no computer.

i doubt anyone would give 4000 for it as it sits, and its worth well over 3000 broken down in pieces and sold off on ebay.....thats why im about the take it apart and keep everything mentioned above to put on a hatchback body. if i'm wrong, email me at [email protected]

bring a trailer and take it all

otherwise, in 5 weeks im taking it apart after selling the 70 charger

sorry, doc, i think i'll have to pass. 87-93 GT's never really did it for me, the ground effects and taillights ruined them in my opinion.

yes it is still available....

no one wants to buy it without a rolling suspension, so a new idea is for me is to take out the motor, trans, driveshaft, rear end, exhaust system and wheels.....then install a junkyard rear end to make it a roller, and leave all the new suspension/bushings/joints/lowering springs in place. it would still be a roller and the new owner can then do what they want for a rearend later. there are 7 LSC lincolns in the local junkyard so i can get a fox body 3.27 8.8 to put uner it that most people would be happy to just leave in it. one of those or a mustang 7.5 cost the same anyway at the junkyard. to sell it this way i would ask $1800. i would also put the fuel injection harness back in place too so you can plug and play. it was already converted to mass air, but a computer doesnt go with it at that price. this way you can drop in your motor, trans, wheels, and gas tank (there's no pump in the tank currently) and go. This would of course include the original motor, transmission (AOD), h-pipe and headers, white door panels and anything else original sitting around for it that you want.

it is now sans motor and trans, everything else is still there. the original motor and trans are still available. i hate to part it out, someone buy it! with or without suspension (i can swap a 4cyl suspension into it to roll it if you want a cheap body).

right now t is only missing the motor and trans, but the original motor and trans i still have (86 ho efi engine and aod trans).

there is a small crack in the dashpad between a few of the holes in the center speaker grate. hardly noticable

interior is complete minus stereo. original stereo is still available am/fm/cassette. only thing wrong with interior is small crack in dashpad and the carpet at the bottom of the door panels' glue isnt holding and carpet is pulling away. doorpanels themselves are in good shape. original white door panels are available too

i would prefer to sell it with a swapped in 4 cyl suspension from the 91 lx i am building, it would be far cheaper that way as i would get to keep the completely rebuilt suspension and fresh 3.90 and new posi 8.8 rear. but, its all available for a price. also, original 3.27 ring gear is available

new, barely used wheels on the car with dunlop tires having at least half life left are on the car still. original 10 holes available

pm me an offer on what all you want and make an offer

i have a 15x52 storage unit with all the mustang stuff to build about twenty cars so a roller is fine. motor/trans not needed. it just needs to be able to roll on and off a trailer. wheels and tires are not a big deal as to what they are i have several sets. so if you just had a set of bald rollers that would be fine. so i guess what im saying is after your done swapping stuff and it is ready to go give me a price.
