1968 Mustang âSâ code (390) 4-speed convertible. Sold new by Fred Jones Ford in Tulsa, Oklahoma. The car ended up in Texas in the late 70âs and then to Central Louisiana in the early 80âs. This car was restored in 1983 and driven 700 miles since that time. I purchased the car in April from the 4th owner who owned the car since 1982. According to the Marti Report the car has the following options â 390-4v, 4-speed, 3.00:1 open rear, red exterior, black manual top, black standard interior, heavy duty suspension, deluxe seat belts, electronic clock, am radio, wheel covers, tach dash, and remote left hand mirror. During the restoration, a turn signal hood, styled steel wheels, and exhaust cut out rear valance was added. The only non-stock items are the Hurst shifter, oil pressure gauge, and the distributor. The car retains all the original sheetmetal with the exception of the hood and valance (original Ford parts). There is no rust or panel replacement on this car. Excellent floors, cowl, etc. The drivetrain is believed to be original to the car. I have the receipts from the engine rebuild, clutch, etc. The motor wears the original C8 carb, valve covers, exhaust manifolds, and air cleaner. I have just completed a full brake job, installed a new gas tank, sending unit, fuel pump, and rebuilt the carb. All parts that have been removed can be included with the car. The car does not have power steering, or power brakes. The paint is older, but still shows very well. There are some chips since it was painted 23 years ago. The interior is believed to be original. Dashpad does not have any cracks or warping. Seats are in excellent condition. This is a rare chance to purchase a bare bones big block convertible. It is one of 338 non-Shelby 390 4-spd convertibles. Asking $31K / obo Email for pics [email protected]
