** Real 1967 Shelby GT500

My dad is selling his GT500, so I thought I'd post it here first. This is a real one, and is in the Shelby registry. The car was built in early 67, so was built at the airport, not in a factoy. The car is in the middle of a restoration with all new paint, new front suspension, and is 98% complete. The 428 pi is there, and was bored .030 and needs assy. I'll try to post pics in the next day or so. It will take $80,000 to buy this car no less!!

Great looking car. Not to start stuff, but it will hard to get 80 grand..especially since the engine dont have original parts on display. Did you keep the valve covers? Air Cleaner parts? If you did make sure you list them! All matching numbers?

I don't believe the engine is a numbers matching, and I really have no idea what this car is worth. My Dad felt it was in that range, but I'm sure he's open to hearing what others feel the value is.

as long as you arent in a hurry to sell you shouldnt have a problem as long as the resto is done right. if i had 80k, id be knockin. although original engine parts would be good.

Ok, the link only goes to a gold GT 500 picture, and a motor that appears to be in a Blue Car, is this correct, or is the link Jacked?

The gt500 is the car, the engine is not the one for this car. I really hate to see him sell this car, and if I could afford it I would be buying it. Hopefully we can find it a good home.

Folks on the SAAC forum or the vintage mustang forum should be able to help you on value. I don't have links handy but a quick google search should find those sites for you.
