1970 MACH 1

Listing for a buddy
Email: [email protected]

1970 Mach 1, Calypso Coral color (original color according to the body tag was Light Ivy Yellow - ugh!). The engine is a 351 Cleveland (2bbl heads). This car was originally an automatic, but no longer (details on that in a bit). From the outside, the car looks very stock and boring. But it ain't. Here's a list of things that have been done to it....

Suspension work:
Rubber suspension parts replaced with Energy Suspension urethane parts.
Original shocks (front and rear) replaced with KYBs
Original front springs replaced with OEM-style.
Original leaf springs replaced with 4-1/2 leaf HD springs
Subframe connectors welded in (prior to my purchase of car)
Ball joints replaced as warranted.

Brake work:
Original 4-wheel drums replaced with 4-wheel disc brakes
Original master cylinder replaced with disc brake m.c. (non-power, but can be added)
Stainless braided hosing used on all 4 corners

Steering work:
Original steering box replaced with Flaming River steering box.
Rag joint in steering shaft replaced with stainless heavy duty universal joint.
Original steering wheel replaced with Grant wheel (prior to my purchase of car)

Under-hood work:
Engine rebuilt with mild overbore (prior to my purchase of car)
2bbl intake replaced with 4bbl intake (prior to my purchase of car)
4bbl carburetor (Ford) replaced with Barry Grant Demon 4bbl
Original distributor upgraded with Mallory Unilite photoelectric triggering system
Mallory Hy-fire ignition and Mallory coil added
Oil filter relocated to fender well
Stacked plate oil cooler added (thus the move of the oil filter)
Exhaust manifolds sandblasted and painted with POR-15 high heat paint

Drivetrain work:
Tremec TKO 600 5-speed manual (with 0.68 overdrive) installed
Custom transmission bracket fabricated
Flywheel and starter replaced with 1993 Mustang GT style parts (part of the tranny conversion)
Mechanical clutch linkage replaced with cable-activated clutch
New U-joints installed on driveshaft
3.00 open rear end upgraded to 3.89 locking rear end (Richmond gears, Powertrax differential)

Other stuff:
Dual gauge pod added to drivers windshield pillar (temp and oil pressure).
Custom AutoSound USA-1?? radio added (digital, no tape, MP3/Aux inputs)
Dash pad replaced with Coverlay (black)
Faux woodgrain parts coated black (dash, around clock, etc) (done prior to my purchase of car).
Tachometer added to top of steering column.
Turn signal cam and wiring harness for steering column replaced.
Turn signal lever replaced.
Floor pans replaced (prior to my purchase of the car)

That's all I can think of at the moment. Everything in the car works. I have part of the interior out doing some work, but I have it all. Not sure how to boot the new shifter where it comes through yet.... I have some of the original parts that I replaced (carb, for example). I also have the sequential turn signal kit that I haven't bothered to install.

Asking $22500

I may be interested in your car. Do you have more pictures you could post or email to me? Would like to see the engine compartment and interior shots as well as underside. Thanks.

Nice car and it looks like its priced decent. To me the car looks red and not CC. It could be just the picture though.
