Edit: New pics below...
Thought it was interesting that nobody offered this kind of thing, especially since you don't get any accessories or a tensioner when you buy an LS out of the yard around here. I wanted to be able to run the stock Fox body PS pump and alternator.
Seems a no-brainer for someone using carb, but works with EFI too. At the alternator's highest, its about even with the top of the factory truck oil fill neck.
Here's an old pic of the prototype. The alt bracket is useable alone or with the power steering bracket. Uses commonly available serp belts.
The gist is: This setup works with truck accessories. The alt bracket has two positions, so you can run it with the stock truck, '010 Camaro (shown), or LS1 pumps (LS1 pump requires .750 spacer -have those too).
It includes the custom turnbuckle tensioner (unlike prototype, tensioner has jam nuts, nice finish etc), so you don't need/use the factory GM tensioner.
EDIT: I forgot to mention, you can run just the alternator bracket and a shorter belt. Either because you've got manual steering, or just short belt it at the track...
After doing some testing, working with a patent attorney, etc. I've got some finished sets coming back (tomorrow?) and will have pics up directly. I'm filing a patent on this. What the heck, I've always wanted to be an inventor...
I've got to run some copies to get the pricing reasonable, barring phenomenal volume looks like it'd be $225 for both brackets, tensioner, etc. Alternator side alone is like $150.00
Is anyone else interested in using a setup like this?
I've got an idea about getting an AC bracket involved, but haven't moved on it yet.
Any feedback appreciated!
