does anybody make a plug and play Foxbody lsx/4l80 trans crossmember

Just wondering if anybody makes a Trans Crossmember for a 4l80 in a Foxbody?

I will be putting my 408ci lsx motor and TCI 6x transmission (which uses a 4l80 outer case) into a 93 Mustang....and the one thing I cant seem to find is a Trans Crossmember that works with a 4l80

on my Chevy Fbody car, it was Just a simple change of the crossmember
I found a 4l60 crossmember, and it looks like it doesnt even move the mounting point back from where the stock Foxbody transmission would normally mount...

the 4l80 is a bit longer than the 4l60 and all that you do with a Fbody is buy one that moves the point back a few inches...

Here are the 2 Crossmembers from BMR for an FBody Car....both are used to move the torque arm off the transmission housing, so dont mind the shark fin that sticks upwards...obviously I dont need that part of it..LOL

so why cant somebody do this simple change to one for a Foxbody

same basic piece... Just the Mounting Hole is moved back a few inches...
Literally almost the same bar, Just move the Hole to the far side(like a 3 or 4 inch change) and downwards an inch or two

4L60

4L80

Make one, that's the simplest, I have not seen any off the shelf part that works.

Big Negative....

they have Fabricated some in House...but it has been custom per vehicle.
they said they actually just move the mounting spots back and then fabricate a completely new mount to go with it.

Fits like it was meant for the stock tunnel...
No tunnel modification necessary according to several people I have talked to that have actually put them in..

And so far all of them have made custom crossmembers for theirs

I've got a 4L80 in my 95. I had an AJE crossmember for a 4L60 that I used by moving the mounting points back. The 80 requires some massaging of the tunnel for clearance at the main electrical connector, at the shift lever, and at the coolant line connections. The only time the BFH is required is for the clearance around the electrical connector, the others are minor. The body of the trans fits without any assistance, its the connectors that drive the modifications.

Disclaimer: I have the AJE k-member with modified motor mounts to get my engine positioned very near the firewall. It appears to me that using the stock AJE components will still require modification although maybe not as much.

have any pictures?

and you are saying you just used a 4l60 crossmember and just moved the mounting tabs back...did I read that correct?

I had a feeling that might be the way to go

and I'm ok with a little connector clearancing..... been there, done that on the Camaro...

I'm already planning on cutting a few access holes for transmission bellhousing bolts... I'm using a motor plate and mid plate, so I need some easy way to get to the dam things for install and removal..LOL

Rick Anderson from holley has a 4l80 in his mustang.

Get with Mustang Chad I saw a pic of a crossmemer he build that was slick it bolted to the floor. He had a plate welded to the floor with nuts so you just hold it up and put the bolts in. Going to do something similer on my car but it will use 2 quick pins and free up a bunch of exhaust room.

I'm just planning on using a double hump cross member and moving the mounting points back... Seems the easiest way to do it and it give me some clearance for the exhaust if i need it.

Contact Brian at Stifflers. If he doesn't have it already, he will help you find a solution. And he won't kill your pocket either! He helped me out with my modular fox swap. Needed a crossmember for the 3650, contacted him and we went back and forth figuring out what would fit. He was great! And very fast getting back to me anytime I contacted him Stifflers Automotive and Suspension Products Plainfield Indiana

For reference, I don't see how you would NOT have to massage the tunnel around the electrical connector unless your output shaft angle was dropped down a lot. I have the 80e in my car with the aje k member and even after massaging the tunnel it is still close.
