1993 Mustang Notch LS1 Project

I bought this 1993 mustang notch a few weeks ago, I had two 5.0's in high school and just missed how small and how they handled... since the 5.0's i had a few other cars one of which i still owe 2001 camaro ss. I love the power of the GM LS1 motor's which is why I am going to do this project. Light weight of the fox + the power of the ls1 = ass raping! This will be a slow working project because i plan on buying everything before i take into the fox. Goal is to get a 10 sec pass!

Here is my Bone stock 4 banger

rear wheels are in!
I test fit them in my camaro to see how they fit they fit pretty good don't need to grind the caliper like most 15" x 10" wheels do with 4th gen's they do however stick out about an inch. i would love to test fit them in the mustang but im still driving it around using it as a daily i don't want to take it apart just yet

looking good. The F-body requires a 7.5 backspacing as the mustang will require a 6.5 I believe. So there is where the inch is.

By any chance did you buy this notchback from the whittier area? Reason I ask is because I actually met up with the guy to check it out before I bought it but passed on it due to the tranny seeming like it was starting to slip. Nice project by the way.

hahaha yes this is the one, trans slips pretty bad but still takes me to work every day, my plans are to buy as many parts as i can, i hope i can get them all by Dec/Jan then start taking it apart paint it and install everything.

Tires are in! i picked them up sat, my baby was enjoying them!

I also took my rear end to my buddies shop to get the axle tubes welded, i would've loved to weld up the cross braces but they have not shown up yet, i am going to have to install that later. We also pressed in my C clip eliminators those are ready to go in... im just wondering if i should wait and get the cross brace welded and also the rear coil over brackets welded in before i oil up the rear? i also set up my front brakes they look great!!!!!

I also got some small parts in
this is the brake pro valve and a hand brake line

i also picked up my seat brackets from a guy on C-list for $40 for both to use with my race seats, great deal, the company i bought my race seats wants $99 each bracket! crazies

i threw away the old trans but couldn't throw away the motor, trans was messed up and motor was still good so i put the motor on an extra engine stand just to get it out of the way,

here are some pictures before we gutted the whole engine bay removed front bumper fenders old k member.

Chuy came over and started welding up some holes, we noticed after he started covering up the holes that it would be easier just buying premade panels that covers up all those holes looks much nicer so i will be ordering those panels tomorrow and hope they come in by friday to get hem welded on.

all bones

fenders and front bumper

John was taking care of the dash, i am not going to run a/c or heater so all of that is coming out, my roll cage is a 10pt has a bar that goes behind the dash as well so it had to come out.
we are also going to paint the whole inside black.

I ordered some engine bay panels instead of welding up all those holes from the engine bay, those should be in next week, i also returned the throttle body, because i will be running drive by wire, I also ordered the brake booster and mc to finish up the brakes parts, i'll post more pictures every week, i am hoping to finish it by the summer

Not a lot to update but here is where we stand, we might drop the old rear end and cut the rear floor area tonight getting it ready for mini tub's and rear suspension

I also got my trans in 6L80E

Got my headliner redone suede came out really nice, had to get this done before the roll cage or else it would've been a bitch to install it with the roll cage.

we washed and cleaned the engine bay prepping it for the engine bay panels that i ordered.

inside is completely gutted

gas tank is out and rear end should be out this tonight

there is a dent we need to fix on the driver side so we kept the doors on, so it can be lined up with the door jams
