in the same boat

8.2 Dart, Super Victor, Pro Systems carb, Team Z front end.

Currently have a Cervini Stormin Norman on it now. Motor won't be together for a few months yet for me to get any measurements

I'm assuming since you asked the question in the "Mixed"-platform section your asking in reguards to an LS or SBC swap..?? Not sure since "8950LX" has his "8.2" deck-heigth listed.
If you are asking about a SBC; then you're probably going to need at least a 3" cowl. I have the AJ&E K-member with my 400 SBC, Super Victor# 2925, 1" spacer and a "plate" on top of that and my front "float" adjustment nut and and screw rise above the fender-line about an 1 1/4". By the time you throw a 14" diameter X 3" thick filtered, air-cleaner on it- you're going to be out there. FWIW, I run an H.O. Fibertrends 5" on mine with zero issues.
