I did it the stupid way, but will make more power in the end. I went 408, higher compression setup, instead of sticking with a stock motor.
I also did everything new, instead of used.
Just on the LS side of things:
408: Machine work, block, internals, gaskets: 6500
L92 Heads + work done to them: $900
Cam kit, with upgraded springs .675 lift: $870
Trans with stall: $1500
AJE Set up: $350
Yeah $12,000. Pretty silly, but again, I bought everything new, the bottom end is top notch, I got the head work done for cheap on a favor, heads flow 352CFM now. I could have gotten everything used, stuck with a stock motor and sprayed this piss out of it, thrown a huge cam in it and run 9s, but I'm hoping with the set up I have I run bottom 9s on spray, and with more convertor maybe even kiss up to a 8.99.
