SBC into Fox: Motor Plate advice

Hello Folks;
I am putting a 434 SBC w/ powerglide into a 86 Hatch drag car.
I've got a UPR k-member and A-arms and I will be using a motor plate.

I need motor plate advice from someone who has done this install.

I'm being told I will need to use both front and mid plates.
Is this true?
Whats the most widely used method of installing the plate?
Do I need to install any special bars in the engine bay to weld the plates to?

Thanks in advance for any help I get.

Running front and mid plates is best. It ties the unibody at two points, thus reducing flex and reducing the likely hood of destroying the transmission and it's mounts by twisting it to death.

Best installation is just to weld on some tabs and bolt the motorplates to them. It makes for easy removal and install of the engine in the future.
