sbc...ford computer

Just out of curiosity would there be any problems installing a sbc in a 89-93 mustang using the factory computer and fuel injection set up?I know the firing order is not the same,but the injector order can be changed to match the Chevy.What other problems might arise from a project like this?

if using the lsx engine like your saying, use the lsx harness and ecu...you would be way better off. maf and map, and easy tuning.

scoggin dickey has a nice "stand alone" stock type ecu and harness for installing lsx motors in any type of retrofit application... like older chevies or mustangs or dune buggies... pricing is reasonable and it looks clean.

05.5 G35 Coupe 6mt, black, stock for now...

I am using my AEM. It was just a jumper harness for the crank cam and coils. The rest is programing.

I was not refering to an lsx engine.What I was asking,if you already had a mustang and an old chevy motor,how hard would it be to swap in the chevy motor using the ford computer and fuel injection?Like I said before,I am just curious,I got to thinking about it and it seems it would be strait foward.The QuarterHorse will let you change the order of the injectors and a MSD box could take care of the spark.Would there be any other problems?

Small, big or lsx block is not a problem with the AEM.

You would need to put LSX coils on it but there are some benifits to that also.

The AEM product looks very nice.I am not into the racing scene at all and none of my friends have cars,so I do not have any access to any of this stuff.I wish I could actualy be around some of these products,so I could talk to an owner.I purchased a QuarterHorse and feel like it is a good product for the money.I just wanted something I can play around with,but I have not had much time because of the birth of my THIRD daughter.I am trying to find a block right now,so I can build a 408w for my mustang.Until then I am hoping to learn enough about tuning to get my new engine running.

The biggest obstacle I see is finding or making a distributor work. Since you will need a TFi module and pickup to use the ford ecm and harness. The firing order can be changed via a chip.
