New to area and need a good shop in the Va Beach/Norfolk area?

There were so many good shops in the San Diego area but I am just not to familiar with the mech shops around here. Any advice would be appreciated.

Chris

Well i haven't been here for 2 long, but i like taking my car to Jr's Car Shop, the owner Tommy always takes care of me, and he specializes in 5.0/4.6 mustangs, and his prices are very reasonable, only 50 dollars an hour for labor.
the number is 595-9580, he is in newport news tho, but i live in Va Beach, it is worth the drive for me tho.

If you are refering to Jr's Car Shop, he is located on J. Clyde Morris Blvd. at the yorktown/newport news border. in the Rocket Motors Parking Lot.

Me? A mechanic? Nah, I don't have the patience and aptitude to be a mechanic. I have to rely on friends and being in debt to be in this hobby.

Hey Doug, how goes it? Hmm, Sunday, eh? The little woman is off that day, so I'll have to whip up a list of honey do's for her to keep busy with while I'm at Hooters.
What about Saturday if the weather sucks on Sunday?

Ron,

Sunday or Saturday is good for me. Next we have to decide on a location!. What was that all about off of 64 today near the high rise bridge?
Looked like a multialarm fire in an apartment complex.

Duckman, where did you get your Magnaflow catback at?

Doug, I've been off since Sunday, so I haven't heard anything.
If it was something big, then it was a good day to be off.
As far as location, maybe we should take a poll and see how many people are coming from what area? Unless we just wanna hit a different one? Wow, I'm thinking about our waitress with the little librarian glasses. BOING!! Oh to be young again,,,or rich!

Ok Folks,
Let's hear the locations being considered. We have 3-4 days so let's give as much time as possible.

Chesapeak -- Hooters on Battlefield
Norfolk -- Hooters on Military Hwy
Va Beach -- Police Hqs at Municipal Center (JK)

Hey Ronnie, I guess a Portsmouth location could
be a restaurant at Ches Square Mall. That is close to Ptown isn't it?

idon't know why nobody's mentioned it, but MAS (mid atlantic auto specialties) is on haygood road in VB. and also performance unlimited on ave. J in Norfolk. it sucks there really isn't much to choose from around here. but then again, you do get good at working on your car yourself

Ron95gt, sorry, I missed your first post, I ordered it from Houston Performance. They were highly recommended by alot of people on the corral. I got that and the Xpipe for $830 shipped.

venomsvt95, there's really nothing worth mentioning about Performance Unlimited. I haven't had bad dealings with them or anything but neither did the guys impress me much. There's a PU in Newport News also. They just don't seem to carry the brands I'm interested in and weren't willing to special order. I do think 5.0 guys would be a little happier with their selection.

Preformance Unlimited

I went to the one in newport news, when i was asking them questions it seemed like they were bothered by it, and there prices suck, seems to me like they order it out of a magazine then mark everything up.

Performance unlimited isnt too bad, Ive had good experiences with them. I live about 5 minutes from there off of Warwick. Theyve got a new performance place, not sure the name but they are at the J. Clyde and Victory intersection. They are way overpriced tho. We've got car shows near there on Sat nites, domestics only, and a lot of fox boxes and chebbies. That would be cool to get up together somewhere, I go Old Dominion in Norfolk, so I know the area pretty well. If you see a silver 88 Tbird waisting these damn import wannabes, its me

The Performance Unlimited in Norfolk (off of Ave J) is better. They are pretty good people over there. Go there, and ask for Erik Watts, tell Erik that Jason sent you (he is my brother) and he will try and hook you guys up. They have a full machine shop at that one too.
