Clubs or Stangers in MD?

Any of you guys in MD/Balt./DC area? There are a number of ricer clubs around here (6 guys with identical WRX's), but I haven't seen or heard of any Mustang groups etc. I've been to the B&N in Rockville but it's all rice. Some interesting pieces, but rice nonetheless.

Well I'm a stanger and there are 2 clubs that I know of. Are you looking for some fellow stangers to cruise with? I usually around your area at least once a weekend, it's only 20min away by mustang.

I've only seen the Maryland and Chesapeake clubs. More classic oriented. I'm not into shows much, but just looking for folks with late-model mustangs who want to cruise/talk/whatever.

Thumbs up

A friend of mine and I started a club here in Richmond a year ago.
We currently have a few members that live up in that area. If you just want to cruise around, or talk or whatever, we welcome you to check us out, or you can just shoot the shat on the message board if you want.

www.tricitiesmustang.com

Hope to see you there.

Yeah Mass, I'd like to cruise sometime. I'll be in PA with my girlfriend until late tonight though. Went to 75-80 last night, not alot of Mustangs, but loads of F-bodies. That track seems slow though. SS Camaros were running mid to high 14's, I even saw a '99 GT with a Procharger run low 14's. Conditions seemed good, but times seemed low. Let me know about crusing.

I was at 75-80 last Friday and most of the Stangs were in the 13's and a 5 sec GN stopped by to put us all to shame. I got out of work late Friday so I couldn't make it up there in time

Cool, call me on my cell(I pm'd you the number) and we'll get together.

plstktnkr2, I'm usually in Mt. Airy every other weekend which is the easternmost part of Frederick. I can jump on 70 from there and be in the center of Frederick in 5min which isn't to long to hang with a Stang I'll see if I can get some more people together and turn it into a cruise.

Mass, I'd be up for something this weekend. No plans as far as I know. Got your message on Fri, but went to Dover for the WC race with my son. Great time Could go to 75-80, or Capital. Check some of the other boards, I think some folks are going to capital. I've never been to the track, but WTH?!!

75-80 is cool, I don't like capitol it get's too full and the lines are not worth the wait in my opinion.

75-80 is more fun then capitol, every time I have gone to capitol , People jumped lanes and they never had enough water in the waterbox and if you ask thenm to put more in, they told me that it would not make a differance with heating my tires. A-Holes. Too bad that this is the last Friday night at 75-80......

So I guess you'll be there as well FishStang, and hopefully in the Stang

I'm putting the Fbody away for the winter tomorrow so I'll be there in the Lazer Red Stang with 1 missing wheel cap.

I go to watch, I have left my share of parts on the pavement at 75-80.... I ran it 2 times this year and it ran 12.25 or 12.20 everytime.

I would rather leave parts at Summit Point.

What's wrong with the Caddy?

Those are nice times, are you supercharged?

Nothing's wrong with the Caddy, I just prefer to see the 12sec Stang. I've always loved the 94-95GT's because of the combo of the 5.0 and the body.

all motor! I have a 306 that is balanced, blueprinted, and ported. I will always drive the stang to the track, but it gets parked.

I like the Caddy, it has lots of room in it.

All motor
Looks like I gotta get me a 95GT to play with. I'm just not seeing many 96+ in the 12's on just the motor.

All motor and about $5k in parts/labor! My wife is still pissed about that. If I had a 96 or a do over on my car, I would have put a ProCharger on!

Poor guy has to miss a day at the track to hang out with a bunch of models. Look I'm willing to make the sacrafice and stand in for you so you can go to the trac.....lol just kidding. We'll see you at the next cruise, looks like the fall will be more active than the summer was on this board.

Where's everyone going to be on FRI? I should be back in Germantown by 5:30 or so. You guys want to meet up ahead of time, or at the track?

Well unfortunately I don't get out of work until 5:30 and I work in Bethesda. I get to the track around 6:30 on Fridays, but I have to pass through Germantown to get there so if you want to meet up it's cool. I don't want to make you miss anything at the track though since I get out so late.

Well, I doubt that I'll run, so I don't really care what time I get there. Let's see what other people have in mind.

Ok, looks like we're going to be rained out. Anyone have ideas for Saturday if it clears up? BTW, has anyone had exhaust installed around here? (or jackstands they want to lend me?) I called around to some of the local shops and got quotes ranging from $350-$70. Anyone do any better?

I didn't read every word in every post in this thread, so if someone else mentioned these clubs, I apologize for the duplication.

Mid Maryland Ford Club (based in Frederick)

National Capitol Region Mustang Club (MCA affiliate)

Northern Virginia Mustang Club (Rents Mason Dixon Dragway a couple Saturdays a year for club racing).

All have web pages, but I can't locate the URLs at this moment. They will all come up if you use a search engine and look for Ford, Mustang, & car clubs.
