Can the lounge be saved?

When you come to the coral and stay for the tech something is wrong. I don't just think its an AF thing, I think folks have grown up and moved on to other interests in life but hey thats justs me. Hell once upon a time Iused to could find a thread in the lounge to make me crack a smile or piss me off. Now not so much.

A lot of people have grown up, been banned, or other misc things around here.

Dave got married, as did Ralph. Those two were a big portion of this forum.
I also can't remember the last huge/amazing/"epic" thread that the lounge had. It's not like we have the car wash thread anymore.

It's sad. I miss the antics of the lounge from days gone by.

I still find an occassional entertaining thread in the Lounge. I rarely go to tech and if I do it's to the body shop to see some build threads

Nothing wrong with the tech here, honestly its a nice middle ground compared to other sites were its all out race tech or the other extreme of "bling tech".

I have no reason to go to Tech anymore so I visit the lounge several times a day. There are rarely any threads I will actually click - mostly just use the mouse over preview.

I still find some threads entertaining, but most I skip right by.

It's unlikely this lounge will ever be what it was. It was definitely fun for awhile.

Well you can blame those canadians over at AF.

I don't think many people have "grown up" at all, they just post elsewhere without 500 ads per page. I remember back in the day getting home from work at like 11pm, and threads over at 5pm were not even on page 1. Now there is 3-4 days worth on the first page.

It may not be as popular as it was but there has been a handful of people banned over the last few months. Some others, don't frequent as much.

Websites are like the weather, they go in cycles. Generally it seems web traffic dies off in the summer when people are on vacation or busy doing other things. During the winter when the snow is deep, people are inside with less to do.

such is life. big company takes over little company, old president says things will stay the same, employees say this is crap nothing is the same, employees leave or get fired and move on to greener pastures.

Making people go "hmmmm" one post at a time.

I never realized all the ADs! my ELITE-NESS ran out a few days ago, and now ads are everywhere, top, bottom, sides, its stupid, i hate to give some Canadians 25 bucks to get rid of them, but damn its tempting lol

In 500000 years after the Canadians have long since perished we will start from scratch and a new Lounge will begin, and this will all happen again.

Due to missing some of the old comrades/friends some out there might not give the newer people a try. It seems like laughing at someone's joke or thread might take your internet life force away or something.... IDK but I've seen it. It's kind of comical when someone can say something and not get laughs and then a different person a few days/weeks/months later can say the exact same thing in the exact same way and it is all of the sudden the funniest thing ever. Such is life. There is also the issue of those who have been around here and cast a stone (usually at a newer person to the lounge) it creates a proverbial torrential down pour of #####. Not even as close to as bad as what I've seen over at CC to asking tech questions which might usually be overly redundant.

Meh... Click on other threads and comment seeing if someone new will say something and add to the conversation. Or by all means continue to not. I still love the antics around here. I believe you are for the most part all great people and I know quite a few can bring me to tears laughing. I appreciate the laughs corral and hopefully we will have many more.

I haven't posted much the last few months. I was never a lounge regular, but I did keep up with what was going on. Now, eh, not so much. I do a quick scan every couple days but hardly post anymore, in the lounge or tech.
I have a #### load of parts to sell but haven't even posted them in the classifieds.
Just feel like laying low lately.

I have actually been busy at work where I did most of my posting before. Now I can't stand the ads. I was promised no ads with my membership. I want my money back. The pages load slower, jump around as pictures load. F this noise.

We needs someone to go on a cornfield rampage with a jeep to kick start the lounge again.

It will never be saved. Back in the day, a new thread would only last hours on the first page if no one responded. No more epic threads also, the best the lounge can produce right now is a fight over taking a 3 series to the track... lame.
