Dyno Numbers, questions?

I just got my car dynoed for the first time today and I have some questions about it...here's the numbers first off:

1st run:
[email protected]
[email protected]

2nd run:
275.0rwhp
269.2rwtq

so I picked up about 17rwhp with my mods, not a lot IMO for the money I've spent ...but then again, I really don't have many hp mods (pulleys, CAI(see below), and h-pipe)

questions are:

1) on both runs my A/F ratio plunged below 10:1 right off the bat so I am way rich (2nd run never came back up above 10 much, 1st run came back up to around 12)...What can I do to lean it out some? The dyno guy said it might be due to my fenderwell CAI, and rotating my MAF would give me some good hp and lean it out...

2) my 2nd run looked like an earthquake hit around 5000rpms, jumped all around...The guy said it felt like and looks like an ignition problem...I've just installed my new plugs and new wires within the past month or so...one plug wire was a little loose on the left coil pack...Any possiblities why it did this?

I'll have access to a scanner tomorrow and I'll try to get the runs scanned to provide a better look at what went on...

Thanks in advance!

Jim

I'd be pretty happy with that if I were you, with those few mods, you've got pretty good horsepower. I hope I have that much, but I doubt it.

I think that is a good gain for basic bolt on mods--I gutted my exhaust and did a kn cold air intake and MAF and only picked up21 at the rear wheel

Hey Jim... If you got A/F info with those runs you may want to think about having JMS or whomever do a custom chip for your car. They can definitely take care of the rich condition etc., etc., etc.

How's things in St. Louis?

Things are just peachy here...lots of rain, floods everywhere...Same ole St Louis...

I was thinkin the chip would do it...I'm gonna yank my BBK CAI completely out and reinstall my stock air box w/o the snorkle to see if that helps any before I get the chip though...

Has anyone rotated their MAF when they have the 90* bend CAI? I found a link on here on how to do this, but the link doesn't work any more...Just wondering if anyone has seen an improvement with this (the dyno guy said that would lean me out since the MAF is seeing too much air and it's dumping fuel in)
