ET'S with new combo after SHM installed the Paxton

first pass: I shifted into 4th and I found out that you need to ride 3rd out.

60'-2.19
1/8- 8.71
1000-11.18
1/4-13.27
mph-107.15

Second pass, my fastest pass of the day

60'- 2.19
1/8-8.57
1000-10.98
1/4- 12.98
mph- 112.79

My question here is with that MPH people were telling me that there is still a faster ET to come. I did make one last pass and missed 2nd and passed at 113 MPH. What kind of ET'S do you guys thing I will be able to pull off with that mph. Also all of these passes were made on street tires and getting a good amount of tire spin.

99 SVT COBRA,
Nice times. Just to give you some kind of idea, Here is a [email protected] pass, and [email protected]] [email protected] pass missing 4th. The [email protected] was on street tires hitting all gears and the [email protected] was running fairly decent tires and launching easy. So even with a crappy 1.9/2.0 60', I went [email protected]

Hope that helps!
Tim

You have some nice times also there.

Ok to anyone else, what exactly will the MPH tell you as far as ET's?

Sorry to answer again but mph is a direct reflection of horsepower With those kind of trap speeds and a great 60' you should get deep in the 12's.

I would think that a low 12 or a high 11 second would be possible with that mph Good luck Tim

Do you still have the stock gears? Running on the stock tires, at Trails (sucks ****), with the stock gears, that's about as good as it's going to get. With DRs, 4.10+ gears, running at Norwalk, easy low 12s at 118+ mph.

Any blown cobra with traction should be in the 11's period.

99Cobra,

According to your rwhp numbers I would expect you to be doing a few more mph than you are. There are some variables that will effect your mph. Some are track elevation, weather, shift points, and any spoilers you may have on your car.

According to your rwt numbers you will do a high 11 with a decent 60 footer.

How much boost are you running and what are you A/F numbers?

Good luck with the new combo at have fun!!!

This is true. At that mph you should be low 12's high 11's.
I did a best of [email protected] 111. and [email protected]
Judging your 60ft times, you had traction issues. Try some better tires or even ET Streets or feather the clutch off the line.

Dude, Your times aren't bad and your mph indicates that you should go low 12's IMO. I ran yesterday at Thompson and they just finished repaving so traction sucked to put it mildly. My best run was a 12.81 at 114.292MPH with a 2.209 60. My trap speeds are always higher at Norwalk and my times are always better, so the track matters a lot. Besides it is tough the first few times out with a s/c car but it will get better once you get the hang of it. Hope to see you at Norwalk for Smackdown, maybe we can run I am hoping that a little weight loss, good conditions(track and weather), and better driving will get me low 12's at 115+. One last thing get some gears! Later Ron

Traction Problems???

Thats not too bad for traction with street tires and that kind of power. My 60fts look like 2.5-2.8. I guess I need to work on my technique a little more, but I used to have 1.9-2.0 on street tires.

Thanks for all the replys and yes I am still running the stock gear in this car(And the IRS) So that kind of eliminates the use of some drag radials or m/t. I have plans to find a totaled GT and build up a live axle with like a 4.10 gear. I was just told that if I put any kind of tire on it besides for a radial I would break the half shafts. Traction was a big issue and all I could do is slip the clutch from idle off the line. Anything else would just cause me to go up in smoke. My main goal is to just make this car an 11 second street car. This is my daily driver so everything I do to it has to be streetable. Primetime: When is smackdown? I'm sure that I will be able to make it up there with a couple friends.

jcitroloc: My air to fuel I believe is 11:1 or 11.5:1 from what Scott was telling me at SHM. I am shifting at about 6600 rpm's when the shift light comes on. I have the stock spoiler on the car in the stock location. Then at the end of my run glancing up at the gauge I was seeing 7psi. at about 6500 rpm's.

Like I said before, with the stock gears and tires, that's all there is. You're also shifting too early.

Smackdown is Friday May 24th from 9am to 5pm at Norwalk. It will be mostly Mustangs but a few other cars as well. It will be a great time as long as it doesn't rain out. Hope to see ya there! Later Ron

Your A/F sounds pretty good. Just be sure it is not any leaner than that at the rpm you make max torque.

You are shifting too early. Wind it out to 6800 so you will not be too low of rpm when you get to the next gear.

The stock spoiler will not rob any mph to speak of.

Get some 4.30s. You need to keep your rpms in the power band more often. With 4.30s your rpms will be 3K in 5th gear at 75mph. No problem for the freeway.

Well I don't know if I will be able to make it to Smackdown then That is my last day of school before I graduate(I'm still in high school) I get out at 11 so maybe I could at least try to make it there for a few hours. Does anyone know of a place that I would be able to find a rear end out of a 99 or up GT?

A lot of the road race guys like to do IRS swaps. Go to the twisties section to find out if anyone is interested. I met someone a couple months ago that was ready to do it on the spot. Sorry, I do not have any of his info. I just met him at a car show.
