Question 4.10's Yes or No?

I am having my axel housing replaced next week on my '99 GT. I want to take this opportunity to replace the gears since it won't cost me anything extra.

Should I go with 4.10's?

Can someone give me the advantages and disadvantages? I know my mpg will drop but will it be significant?

I am placing my order tomorrow so please offer a suggestion.

Thanks all!

Geezus frickin' Christmas! Who keeps feedin this bullshiit to people?

4.10s gears will not cause a decrease in fuel efficiency. PERIOD!

Going WOT every second of the day might empty your tank faster, but thats it.

There is a search function, and about 3,965,231 stupid ass gear posts in this last month alone. You can find all the advantages/disadvantages you need!

Damn Joe. Didn't mean to piss you off. I am new to this and didn't know I could do a search like that.

Thanks for the info.

You'll be fine with 4.10's. Don't believe the myths. In my big boat of a t-bird my mpg stayed the same, and actually got better on day to day mileage because the car didn't shift up and down between 3rd and 4th as much on long stretched between red lights. GET 'EM

Yeah, don't worry 'bout him though...he always/often does that. But he is "right". And now that he's ripped it off, he MAY give you your a$$ back.

Welcome anyway...and get the 4.10s.

Oh, yeah guys, I am the ass for sayin what you all are thinkin?!?

GIDDEUP, it was nothing personal. Gear posts/questions here are like stinky asses, every once in a while you have one, and nobody admits it when they do. Use the search function up above, it will help sell you one which way to go.

Get the 4.10s, you'll love them! I promise.

I guess some of us don't mind as much. If/when these kind of posts bother me, I just ignore them...I don't have THAT much free time at work!

I think it's funny when He does that, mainly because he always beats me to it! I'm just going to quit trying to beat him to it and stick to the "How do flowmasters sound?" threads! Maybe I'll start looking for the "Tri-Ax vs Pro 5.0" or "Mustang vs Camaro" threads.

Okay, then the next thing we'd need are the sig police. I know mine is kinda long, but you know what I mean...the ones with 20+ lines where they used the enter key between EVERY FREAKING ITEM. You're scrolling down a thread and you can stop at a point where all you see is this one person's sig and you don't see the beginning or end.

At least I try to post my sig ONLY ONCE per thread or page...since it is on the longer side.
