Changing Coolant on 98 Cobra

I am planning on flushing my coolant on my 98 Cobra. Is there a site or tech. articles that instruct what steps need to be done. I am a new Cobra owner and have always owned foreign (german cars) so this will be my first coolant flush on American car.

BTW - what's the best car manual for this Cobra and does anyone have a CD available for my 98.

Thanks.
Michael

Do a search on eBay for a Ford CD. They are readily available for under $25.

In front of (and slightly above) the alternator is a U-pipe with a plug in the center. You put your 3/8" socket wrench into the square hole. Be careful that you don't strip out the hole because Ford doesn't sell just the plug. You will need to do the final fill through that plug. I put the front of my car up on ramps to make sure I got ALL of the air out of the system after the refill.

Use distilled water (and NOT tap water).

Do a search on this board for "coolant" and you'll find a wealth of info.
Good luck.

Just like any other car with the exception of the crossover pipe as the final fill point. It takes the square end of a 1/4" ratchet to open the pipe fitting on the crossover tube.

If you have never done a complete flush before on any other type of car the prestone flush kits explain it pretty well...
