Check Fuel Cap?

warning on the the instrument cluster just all of a sudden lights up while driving and stayed lit. I check the fuel cap and its tight and not loose at all . What else could I check and do. Thanks

Don't have a 'check fuel cap' light on my 98 GT. Is this something new? Are you sure it isn't the 'low coolant' indicator light (looks like a square with an 'x' in the middle of it)? The coolant reservoir sensor is pretty touchy and sets off the light with some annoying frequency.
