Question What ET can I get out of my car with traction??

Will be going back to the track in a few weeks with some different street tires but want to know what et's I could run if I got some 275/15 DR's.

My two best and really only complete passes were [email protected] with 2.17 60 and [email protected] with 2.32 60. My problem is no traction after the 60ft . I ran 8.9 and 9.0 1/8 mile times, my sohc is faster in the 1/8.

Would like imput from everyone and especially those with gt axles in their cobra's. Bob, Joe ???

Jason.

I would say that 108mph trap is good for a very high 12 with a 2.0 or 1.9X 60ft.

With a 2.0 or lower 60' you'll be in the 12's.....

Hey Z28SS21

Hey Z28SS21, I see you're from around Lubbock. What color is your ride? I raced a white SS the other day on 82nd/Indiana, I won't say what happened. , but I expected it. I just wanted to get a baseline other than the track before I started modding. I led briefly ..... 3rd gear in an SS is deadly.

Yeah, give me another 4 weeks or so. I'll have 4.10, chip for speedo correction and Nitto's by then. Maybe I can make it a little more interesting for you.

Where are people racing around here, other than Idalou and 82nd street?

I really dont street race around here, unless I come across someone at the stoplight. My car is full weight now, so we might be close. Ya never know. If ya see me around town throw a wave.

Nice pics. It's a trip to recognize houses in your photo. Were those pics taken on 98th? The houses in the background look like a street further North of there where a girlfriend of mine in high school lived.

Thanks for the replies.

What 60 ft times are normal with 275/15 DR's ?? Would I be better off getting ET streets ???

BurlyStang:

I hate to say it but 4.10s and nitto's won't make it very interesting, you will need more than that.

I think an 8.6XX @ 83mph. If you want something more exact, I can brake out the shovel and dig it up from the mess in my computer room.

Is the internet great or what? I found my time slip from 02/02/02 at Ennis on www.dfwstangs.net http://www.dfwstangs.net/vb222/showt...threadid=25366

2.050 60'
8.68 1/8
81.52 MPH
13.49 1/4
102.05 MPH

That was not my best. I came back two weeks later and ran the 13.46 @ 103.

TexasDevilDog :

Thanks for getting those times for me. If I could just run your 1/8 mile times I would be close to the 12's. I ran 8.9 and 9.0 @ 84 and 85 mph. I 'm going to try the 295/35/18 BFG's from my other car and see what I can do with practice, practice, practice... If that dosen't work sticky tires are next.

Jason,

Traction not only helps 60' but through 2nd gear. I know that I was spinning all through first gear but my 60' only improved 15/100s. But my 1/8 mile went from ~8.9 to ~8.6. That's a big difference.

Cheers
Richard
