Question Questions: The Game, 96-98 headswappers

Hey guys, I've been saving up for PI headswap for some time now but have some q's.

First, when I started looking after I got my car about 6mos. ago, I saw your (The Game's) headswap for I think 1500$. This includes p&p PI heads, PI intake and everything I need for job?

Second, how does your kit compare to the one they offer at stangnet.com. There's is 1500 also.

Third, (I have a basically stock 96 GT), what do you think I would see the best gains out of in addtition to the heads and intake; Cams, headers, T/A, pullies? I can always do the T/A&pullies later, but what is a good idea to have done with the headswap. I have a limited budget senoir in high school w/ job, so I want max horsepower/torque gains for the $$$ (don't we all).

You could always pick up a pair of 96-98 heads for $200 or less have Shannon P&P them $400 and install a set of 2k cams $130 with the installation kit gaskets bolts etc $115+ installation your time or pay someone $??? It will work out cheaper and give you the results of a set of stock PI heads with out the hassle of a bump in compresson. The prices are what I got the stuff for not including shipping.

Don't know about the kit at stangnet. I do know the kit on mustangweekly.com is one in the same.

The best mod I have done after the heads was the timing adjuster and pullies.

i wouldnt waste my time the those 96-98 paper weights. the kit on stangnet is shannan's (DTA Racing). the bump in compression is a good thing! unless you have a blower.

Yeah, planning on staying NA. Do you know if shannan's kit includes the PI intake and if it is port and polished? What about cams and headers, how much benefit are they?

Shannon's kit does come with the 99up intake, although I'm not sure if its considered PI or not.

No idea how much the cams or headers help, I guess I'll find out next month when my heads come (hopefully).

Edit: The intake is not ported, being mostly/all plastic.

Hey Stroked sounds like you need to get blown. The man was asking a question and I offered him a viable/cheaper alternative. The early heads might not be as good as P&P later heads but will do a good job for someone looking to pick up some power and save some cash.

Peace, Dwayne

glenn,
i'm sorry if you took offense at my statement. none was intended. i am just trying to give my friend's business a plug. but since he is staying NA, the compression boost and regrinds will help him get close to 300rwhp. (along with LTs, fuel, and a chip)...once again, sorry.

Shannon is the one doing the work for me so I was not taking work from him. By the sounds of it he has more work than he can deal with anyway Lucky Man has found a corner of the market so he can keep puttong lumps of rock on a special finger

Peace, Dwayne

One important thing to consider with the h/s is the labor costs unless you do it yourself. If you can scrape up the $ for the labor, it is such a benefit to get the PI heads, it cannot be understated.

If your budget can overcome the labor costs of the swap, do whatever it takes to go for the newer heads & intake. Even if you have to sack off the P&P job. It simply doesn't make sence to P&P your old heads and pick up 20rwhp and have spent (400 + 1200) about $1600 to do it.

Good luck and let us know what your final decision is.
