Question 275/40R-17's on all 4 wheels???

I'm looking at getting a new set of tires for my '01 Cobra, possibly Nitto NT-555R's. Will mount them on 17X9 wheels front & rear.
Anyone have this set-up??? Or maybe something similar???
(I see that the '03 Cobra uses this set-up, so maybe there are no problems???)

I'm concerned about clearance/rubbing issues....

do you have the stock wheels? if so, you have 17x8 and not 17x9. either way, you can fit a 275-40-17 on all four corners. With the 17x8, you'll have a slight budge but the tire will fit. I have 17x9.5 inch wheels all the around and have no problems with rubbing at all.

I have that set up on my car and have no problems. I think if you decide to lower your car you might run into a little rubbing in the front. Otherwise I say go for it.

I have the stock wheels currently, but I would be mounting the 275's on either 17x9's or 17x9.5's.

Those of you with the 275's, how does your car handle???
Same or better than stock???

Had 245 Sumitomo's before the 275's. After I installed the tires, I put the same pressure as the 245's. Car wandered all over the road. Bumped up to 40psi in all four, car handles like a dream.

Thumbs up

275 40 17's on Cobra R 17x9" rims and they handle awesome.
There's nothing like having more meat on all four corners and being able to push it harder through the turns. I gained at least 9mph on my favorite morning curve over the stock 17x8 with the 245's!
